Runs saved I think would be more important to a team with no pen! Offensively I agree we will hold our own against most teams! Besides the bottom already looks fine now that Reyes is batting 9th! Lol

Cause bullpens are volatile year to year! A starter should get you more wins then your pen ever should. And ever win by a starter most likely takes innings away from the pen. Win win there! Job of the pen is to protect or save games! If the pen gets a win it is because the offense got the win not the pen !

I think when you say you have needs in the bullpen and 2nd base upgrades for the year ahead! And then you let the ball slip right though your hands it's a committed error charged to the GM! There is a difference to upgrades as a whole when it comes to wants vs needs! Upgrades are welcome, yes! But only if and after you address your needs first one would think! I know AA has time but we are starting to scrap bottom already unless we make a move that doesn't cost us dearly on the farm! It's like I said before it's like we do enough to just be competitive, rather then kicking in the door and walking away with a championship! Rinse and Repeat! That door of opportunity is about to be slammed shut and hard on this team! Mid season or end of the season fire sale coming soon to a Jays team near and dear to you!

Agreed ! Colby doesn't steal bases but doesn't run into a lot of outs either. Can go first to third or home better then some we have on this team or have had in recent years !

Really so no need for them to compete in spring training for it? Why is that? I would still rather sign shields and start both in AAA to start the season.
