  1. Log on and I just read this last page and thought "wtf is going on here". Can we get back to actually talking about baseball and not go back and forth with 2 fan bases arguing over who's team is better as though it actually makes people feel more important if their team is "better".
  2. Congrats to Lowry and to the fans that helped him get in. Hopefully he can get a rest pretty soon though.
  3. So one of the co-founders or co-owners of the side war-on-ice was hired as a consultant by the Oakland As. Lol the As now are hiring smart hockey guys.
  4. For as much hate as fans have for the policy, looking at the contacts over 5 years that have been handed out there are a ton of awful deals and not one that looks like it was a great signing. Darvish's deal looks pretty good but that was under different circumstances. Looking solely at pure free agent deals and not guys who had control left.
  5. I think the Blue Jays do a pretty good job with their "systems" don't you? Their IFA development has been really impressive since AA has took over and Vancouver has been very sucessful at the minor league level, but I do agree that an additional guy can't be a bad thing considering its Beeston who he is replacing. I just hope DD (if he does come, all be it while not giving up anyone significant) has an open mind and doesn't try to change things for the sake of change when there is already successful systems put in place.
  6. If its 10th overall thats not so bad. I think those rankings give a decent idea but like the author said take it with an extreme grain of salt. McDavid is 6th after all.
  7. Analytics guys on Twitter seem to hate him so much. I mean I don't think he is a top 7 player but hes still a pretty good prospect. Marner seems to be pretty underrated though and I think he could be the steal of the draft.
  8. Systems? If you are talking about Farm systems the Blue Jays have had a better one than the Orioles in AA's tenure.
  9. It most likely ends up in the 20 range and I don't think you would part with that pick for a rental backup big. And if you pick up a big with more years left on his contract then you are sacrificing cap space for a backup C. I just don't really see a player that fits what Toronto needs and only being traded for a mid to late 1st round pick or less.
  10. I meant to get a backup big man. You aren't going to give up a 1st rounder for a backup C that improve your team but doesn't make you a legit contender.
  11. I meant that the franchise isn't in a treadmill because they have a ton of assets to improve the team. Derozan, JV and to a small extent Ross all have pretty good value along with a few 1st round picks that could get you good pieces. Also the team has lots of cap space to get a FA. This isn't like Brooklyn where they are stuck with crap and no assets.
  12. Neither does DD, really...
  13. No matter what happens, anyone who sees Ed Rogers should just punch him in the face or kick him in the balls. This moron is the one who started this entire mess and lets pray he doesn't actually give up a legit prospect.
  14. AA probably doesn't want DD to come over in the first place because he knows his job is most likely gone and if it isn't, DD still has final say on baseball operations.
  15. Thing is big men are hard to acquire and especially so when really all you can deal is a 2nd round pick.
  16. http://www.thescore.com/nfl/news/685820 This was pretty funny.
  17. I'm surprised they graded Norris's change as a 60. Is it really that good?
  18. I think there's still a big drop but its more Mcdavid/Eichel are so good rather than the other players being worse. Hanifin would probably be in contention for number 1 in past years and strome/barzal/marner are all top 4 talents.
  19. Well yeah if they were to keep the same roster in tact.. I really doubt Masai is going to stick with this core and ride it out the next few years... He's been a really good GM so far in the league so I think you gotta trust him to do whats best. I think if he can move Derozan for a good piece he will do it. Lowry is also turning 29 in March so I think he has a good couple years left before he declines.
  20. Yeah same here. Friedman is just that good of a GM that what you give up is gained back in a trade. Look no further than the LA-Miami trade this year.
  21. *score effects* Although it was probably a little more than that. Sens also on a b2b.
  22. I think he plans to get a FA. Still lots of assets to make the team better, too. Its not like this is the ceiling of the team.
  23. Or for my other Fantasy league that is for cash.
  24. Curious, if the target theoretically was Friedman or Zaidi would anyone on here give them a Hoffman/Pentecost for them?
