  1. So Stroman apparently has a new changeup? Imagine its close to the effectiveness of his 2 seam? Would give him 6 plus pitches lol
  2. You probably wouldn't get that on Kijiji let alone on this forum lol.
  3. Anyone buy those world series programs? If they don't get there im guessing you get refunded or do they still give you an ALCS program as if they were going to make it even if they don't?
  4. Well yeah but in Cleveland he didn't agree with certain trades but still approved them because he trusted his co-workers. I think this is a pretty good move. He obviously will have a ton of work to do so let AA handle the baseball side in the short term while it lets him focus on the bigger President Tasks. Im sure a huge goal is to get better facilities in Dunedin and thats exactly the type of things Shapiro needs to address.
  5. Oh obviously they aren't even in the same league talent wise.. But all im saying is no one cares if the Jays are a winner at the end of the day. And people forget about players pretty quickly when their team is winning.
  6. You could do this game for every franchise in sports. What if the Jays didn't trade for Donaldson? What if they didn't trade for Tulo and we'd still be watching Reyes lose balls through his legs and barely get on base at the top of the order. I'll gladly take the trades AA has made as a whole considering all he's done.
  7. It'll be the same with Melky Cabrera last year. Casual fans were all like "We need to sign Melky". Then they didn't remember who he was after we signed Martin and traded for Donaldson.
  8. Well yeah he'll get votes for top 5 for sure. Meant will he get a lot of #1 votes. Right now he is probably #2/3 in voting if it were to take place today. Keuchel would win it fairly easily I would think.
  9. I wonder if David Price will get any CY young votes. Imagine the Jays had the MVP and CY Young in the same season? I think Keuchel wins it but if he falters down the stretch and Price dominates maybe things get interesting. Chris Sale is probably going to get snubbed because of his ERA and the s***** White Sox.
  10. Boyd is really having a tough time. His velo is at 91.5MPH so that isn't an issue either. I don't think he's this bad but we'll have to wait and see. I'm really rooting for Norris to do well in DET. He's one of my fav pitchers and seems like a really good person outside of baseball as well.
  11. So looks like AA will be back and be in charge of baseball while Shapiro is mostly the business guy for those who were wondering. Via Kiley McDaniel: Blue Jays: There was some chatter when Shapiro was in talks to join Toronto as president that he could become the top baseball decision maker, which would then force GM Alex Anthopoulos to assess his market, as his contract is expiring after the year and he would be the top candidate on the market. I’ve been told by multiple sources that this isn’t the case and Shapiro will function in more of a business role, leaving the baseball to Anthopoulos. So, this isn’t really even a situation to monitor, I’m just taking a chance to tell Blue Jays fans to calm down.
  12. The 2nd Tulo contract seemed insane at the time and now it is below market value. When Bryce Harper gets 400-500 million in FA the contracts for Star players will skyrocket. Obviously I can't predict the future but I just think MLB is doing really well financially and the contracts are going to keep going higher and higher. Yu Darvish contract is nothing compared to what he would of got if he came over now.
  13. I really don't think Donaldson would accept that. He's probably going to want his FA years at 30+million and honestly I don't blame him for wanting that much. Just guessing here but I doubt Donaldson would take a hometown discount he seems like the kind of guy who is willing to bet on himself. The way the game is going right now I wouldn't be surprised if FA is 10-12 million/Win by 2018. If Donaldson is a 5 Win player by then he probably gets 160-180 million on a 5 year deal.
  14. I agree. Especially if its in the dome where he seems to pitch well. If he looks like he doesn't have it in the first couple innings just use the bullpen. Stroman with his groundballs would be fantastic on the RC turf as well.
  15. I was doing it for a buddy today on his account since he was at work. I actually had my tickets purchased at 9:45. I don't know if there was a bug in the system or what. Seats still aren't great though. Row 28 in 500 Level. At least he's in a good section close to home plate.
  16. Really interesting stuff about the Dickey effect. I checked the game log and its been 7 Dickey starts going all the way back to August 2 vs KC the last time a reliever has given up an ER following Dickey pitching that day. That's 14 consecutive innings that RP haven't given up a run. I didn't tally up all the walks and SO but by just looking at the box scores I saw a lot of strikeouts.
  17. Yeah my point was more about how the Jays TV deal is probably worth 150 million per season if you were to compare it to the NHL contract, not the actual NHL contract itself.
  18. The 500 million$ deal only included national games, not regional games.
  19. Sorry its 5 games a week forgot about the late games. 2 on HNIC Saturday sometimes 3 later on in the year. 1 on Sunday CityTV and 2 on Wednesday on SN.
  20. Very true. Jays should be around average of 800,000 viewers per game by the end of the season for 162 dates per year. That would be a total of 129, 600,000 viewers. NHL season is around 33 weeks. Say they average 4 million viewers a week (3 NHL games per week) that would bring the yearly total to 132 million. Even if you add an extra million per week thats 165 million viewers. Now if the NHL contract is worth 500 million per season I think its safe to say the Jays one worth at bare min. a quarter of that on a year to year basis. Thats $125 million. Jays payroll should be at Least 160 million next season.
  21. They also sell 9 home games a year. Jays have 81. No one is going to go sit in the cold in April to watch the White Sox on a monday night.
  22. You'd have to think the dodgers would of traded Seager + other good players.
