  1. I think this sums it up perfectly.
  2. I'm sorry guys, but you've got to admit when you're wrong... The reason he wasn't signed is OBVIOUSLY because of his injury issues, and rightly so!! Personally, I thought he would have a great year and AA would get blasted for not offering him arbitration, but he wasn't signed because he was too great a risk.
  3. In my view, he's worth more to us on another team then on our team.
  4. What are you guys talking about? He had 3 K's and 0 walks in 3 innings.
  5. I couldn't agree more.
  6. I don't think he has to be
  7. I can live with that at second base if I'm getting enough offence elsewhere.
  8. I'm more inclined to look at the actual moves he has made than winning and losing, or even how the moves eventually turn out. He has made some bad moves, but I think he's made a lot more good ones. If JJ had pitched like he should have, and Reyes hadn't gotten injured, the marlins trade would be looking pretty good right now. I also think that the Melky signing was a good move as you can't predict a tumour in the spine. I think that they overpaid for Dickey, but after the Marlins trade and the Melky signing, I think it was worth overpaying to give them a chance to contend. Obviously, none of these moves turned out last year, but I think the vast majority of people thought it was a great off season by AA and rightly so.
  9. I wouldn't bet my life savings(if I had any:)), but I do agree that is not likely he will even be an average hitter. Having said that, with his defence, I would give him the chance. If he can get his walk rate up to where it was in the minors and improve his overall hitting ability with experience, he might prove to be a serviceable major leaguer.
  10. I think the Jury's still out on AA. He did a pretty good job of restocking the farm system, in my opinion, and I don't think anyone could have predicted how poorly the moves he made last off season have turned out. We'll see how this season and the following off season turns out. Arencibea? I'm glad he's gone. I think Goins could stick. If given some time, I think there's a decent chance that his offence will be slightly below average or better, which in my mind would be balanced by his defence.
  11. I'm a longtime Jays fan but this is the first time I've signed up for a Jays message board. I'm generally not as down on the front office as most others on this board. My thought is they gambled last offseason and it didn't pan out, and now they have to regroup a bit and see what they've got this year before doing anything too dramatic. Would have liked to have seen a little more done in the off-season, but am prepared to give them another year to right the ship. Anyway, I look forward to some good discussion and debate.
