  1. This article explains it all: http://www.thestar.com/sports/bluejays/2014/04/24/blue_jays_pave_way_for_grass_at_the_rogers_centre.html
  2. Yeah, as good as some of these guys are, they're not very clutch when it counts the most.
  3. The man was filming the inside of the stadium for his nephew, who lives in another country, to give him an impression of what it would be like being at a game. Apparently the man was later kicked out.
  4. Yes, it's where the restaurant used to be, but you don't need tickets, it's free for everyone. Last game I went to it was filled up, but we did try to check it out. You get a pretty great view from there even standing above the section. There's a small bar, and a memorabilia section.
  5. For the game, wear sunscreen. I went to a game recently and assumed I would be in the shaded part of the stadium, so I didn't wear any. Unfortunately, I was in the sun for three innings before the shade made it our way, and ended up getting my arms and neck burned. Also ended up buying a cap I'll probably never wear again. So, dress accordingly. jays4life19 is also right about the food, it's really overpriced, and mediocre. You're better off getting a bite somewhere downtown. Although, I noticed the food trucks near the stadium are also a bit overpriced. You should note that Union Station is currently under heavy construction, but in the station and outside it, so take that into consideration when getting to the stadium. Actually, most of downtown Toronto is under construction in some shape or form, so it's kind of a mess, at the moment. Film festival is not a bad idea, but I think tickets are pricey, and you might not even be able to find a film that isn't sold out. You might be interested in Ripley's Aquarium, which is right next to the stadium. That's also pricey, but my sister went with her daughter and they loved it.
  6. Who is even talking about the HOF? Is he a good player, or not? You don't like the guy, fine, but let's not downplay him as a player.
  7. Yeah, what the hell is up with his hair? This is something that's been bugging me all year. It was weird enough when he just kept the back long, and everywhere else short, but to dye it yellow? I can't think of a worse haircut.
  8. The other week, I saw a Josh Johnson jersey being sold in the discount rack. $60.
  9. And hopefully by then, grass will have been installed in the Rogers Centre. So, a new, young team, playing on a grass field, should revitalize interest in the team should we have more years of mediocrity. Hopefully they won't mess with the logo again. I'll never understand why they decided to change it, especially only a few years after the team won a World Series.
  10. No, I'm not really embarrassed to be a fan. Baseball isn't like other sports. We've been unlucky, no doubt, but so have most other teams.
  11. One of the my friends was invited to a house warming party downtown during the game, and the other isn't a sports fan at all, so we all decided to just take off. And I had a feeling the game might come to a point where I would be begging for it to be over. Six and a half hours is insane.
  12. I left after the eleventh. Just as well, there was no way I would sit their that long.
  13. Oh, I am interested in seeing him pitch, it's just it's David Price vs the Blue Jays hitters....
  14. I'm going to the game on Sunday. A friend bought the tickets a few months back when the team was on a roll. I was hoping these guys would be back by then. And now it looks like Price will be pitching, probably against Buehrle. (gross).
  15. I hate that rain delay ********.
  16. No, you're thinking of Art Corvelay.
  17. No, you must be thinking of the other Art Vandelay. I design railroads.
  18. I don't think anyone is actually saying that. What they are saying is, the east is up for grabs. Which it is. But I think New York is weak. Look, they've lost Sabathia for the season, and who knows when Tanaka is back in the rotation? That's a big loss for them. And as good as the Rays and Red Sox have been playing, they're still several games under .500.

  20. What was the atmosphere like, back then? I know when the dome is open, and the sun is shining, and there's a breeze in the air, it's a much different exprience than sitting in the dome when it's closed.
