    They should just do away with the umps, hire 40 new guys. Or at the very least Jerry Layne and that black guy who puffs his chest out and goes berserk on anyone who questions him, his name escapes me at the moment.

    Buerhle was the White Sox ace for many, many years and won a World Series, was the AL All-Star starter that world series year in 2005. And 3 "good" years in the NL after being stuck in the minors for 15. Take his jersey off, the guy is a bum.

    The first ace we've had since Halladay. Not a 38 year old bum knuckleballer who get's battered every other outing after scoring a big deal after one good year.

    I haven't had faith since the big nose years, and now we're stuck with his protege. I cannot wait until we finally get some new blood in this damn organization. It's been the same guys the last decade.

    Yep, pretty embarrassing he was the main piece in the Halladay trade. That was an unbelievably laughable deal for our organization.

    The Dickey signing was literally the dumbest thing this franchise has done in a very long time. He is useless. NL pitcher with one good season at 38 years old.

    Of course they aren't sold out, that building is a dump in the middle of an industrial zone. St. Petersburg is a deadzone.

    This starting rotation looks comparable to the Josh Towers and Gustavo Chacin days, only difference is we actually had a proven horse in the prime of his career in Halladay and not a two year wonder in Dickey.

    No, he would have been attacked. No one had any evidence back then that he would be a good GM or not. All we had to go by was what his mentor in Riccardi did, and the fact that Riccardi was an abysmal failure and literally anyone would have been an upgrade over him.

    Journalism as a whole in this city is embarrassing. All you need to do is look at the two to three yahoos parked outside of the Mayor's office every day lobbing loaded questions at anyone who speaks about him to see that the journalistic integrity this city once had now amounts to nothing. Sports, local news, entertainment, it's a lost art.

    Pretty much this, if you even talking about "trying" you clearly aren't trying hard enough. You make a plan you go out and sign him, or you make a plan to not. You don't sit around with the rest of the player personnel guys and say "Let's try to sign him", that mindset will get you nowhere. Where's Tim Leiweke when you need him? Put all the Toronto teams under his guidance.
