  1. Many players are saying that they won't wear it until it doesn't look so noticeable, but they like where they are going with protection. There creators of the cap noted that many sport equipment has evolved greatly over the years, and it's only a matter of time before this protective hat become the new norm. This blog has a nice overview of baseball equipments evolution- http://www.pitchershelmet.com/evolution-of-athletic-gear/ Not sure how long it'll take the mlb, but it doesn't seem like it would interfere with play, so why not?? My younger sister's softball league makes head/face protection mandatory. As of now I'm not sure if little league baseball is the same way, but I'm sure it will soon be switching over to have the same rules.
  2. Anyone else think it's ridiculous that baseball players are the highest paid athletes??
  3. It bothers me to no end that pitchers in the mlb are so out of shape. They might be able to throw hard and accurate, but so many get injured or sick because of being unhealthy. I know plenty of people with diabetes...one is a very close friend & was a division 1 collegiate softball player who was diagnosed with juvenile diabetes when she was 17 (very rare) and played second base perfectly fine, while still being active in many other aspects of her life. Why? She made sure she ate healthy, exercised properly, and paid attention to her issue. To me, professional players who blame their illness to poor play are not properly taking care of themselves off the field and they are just making excuses.
