  1. Yeah but nobody is gonna take on Buehrle's deal ($18, $19M) w/o AA retaining salary. Dickey is due $12M this yr with an option for $12M/$1M buyout next year, far easier to trade to somebody looking for a 200 IP guy...
  2. Done from TOR POV in my opinion! Only if Melky signs elsewhere tho... not ready to burn that bridge just yet!
  3. Justin Morneau? Makes $6.75M this year for COL w/ and option for next year. If COL is willing to listen on Tulo I would imagine JM could be available... LH platoon partner to split time at 1B/DH with Edwin!!!
  4. Saunders for sure. I would try to deal Dickey/Thole battery to Seattle for a Saunders pkg. IMO R.A. would be less of a liability re; the home run ball at Safeco (ranked 15th) than he has been at RC (3rd) or in yankee stadium (1st). SEA could also use the help behind the plate defensively to be perfectly honest. I really think there is a deal to be made here.
  5. IMO if we can't re-sign Cabrera, we still have a few options without having to toss Beuhrle or Reyes aside... #1 - Try to trade w/ Seattle (maybe something around Dickey?) for OF Michael Saunders ($2.9M) to play LF - only 27yo & fairly cheap, ARB eligible #2 - Use the new found 'No Cabreba/Dickey/Rasmus' money ($27M in 2014) to try and sign Russel Martin (4yrs @ $40M)... over pay if we have to - we need him badly! #3 - Try to work a deal w/ LAA for Kendrick ($9.5M if he'll come here), or else try to ink Asdrubal Cabrera/Jed Lowrie ($7-8M per, multi yr deal) to start at 2B. #4 - Offer deals to John Axford and Jesse Crain to replace Morrow/McGowan, Axford has potential closing ability, just released so could probably be had for cheap. Crain is a nice mid-reliever coming off an injury which may have lowered his price. This leave us looking like... SP - Beuhrle, Hutch, Stroman, Sanchez, Happ RP - Cecil, Estrada, Loup, Norris, Redmond, Jenkins, Axford, Crain C - Martin, Navarro 1B - Encarnacion, Valencia 2B - Kendrick/Cabrera/Lowrie, Izturis/Goins 3B - Lawrie, Valencia SS - Reyes, Izturis/Goins LF - Saunders, Gose/Dirks/Mayberry/Pillar CF - Pompey, Gose/Dirks/Mayberry/Pillar RF - Bautista, Gose/Dirks/Mayberry/Pillar DH - Navarro, Encarnacion/Valencia IMO, this roster is good enough to make the playoffs, or at least close as long as the pitching staff holds up. It is also capable of giving the Canadian fan-base a huge `Maple-Boner'!!!
  6. Erik Bedard just got released by the Rays, Would he be an improvement to our Happ/Redmond/Romero option for our #5 ???
