The rebuild can be fun. I'd rather watch a young team develop than an old team struggle.
What we have:
- The terror tandem of Bichette-Vald as future core
- future financial flexibility. The only long-term bad contract's Tulo's. So when the young core arrive in big league in 2-3 years, we'll tons of money to buy/acquire the missing pieces.
What we lack:
- elite prospects above A ball except Alford
- elite pitching propects
Stroman is the only one on the roster I want to keep tbh. Everybody else (including Sanchez) can be traded for prospects or mlb-ready guys.
Of course teams are interested in StroShow 'cause he's the most valuable on our team.
Tellez always started slowly when promoted to a higher level but this is getting concerning.
Maybe he has trouble handling off-speed pitches? As the main difference between AA and AAA pitching is the quality of off-speed.
If we can have another 4-5 A/B+ prospects in Vlad Jr caliber thru 2017 draft and trade deadline deals, we'll have a good young core by 2020/2021.
We'll also have a boatload of payroll room at that time to acquire some free agents to complete the roster.
Our only big bad contract then will be Tulo.
Exciting future.
Voted 50.
I want 90 wins obviously. If not then 50 wins. .500 season is the worst for the future of our team.
I think it's time to accept that our window of contending is closed and start a proper rebuild a la Cubs.
Well we got Gibbby 1.0 tonite, instead of the Gibby 2.0 we all loved and enjoyed so much for the first 3 games(even with the first 2 loses).
-Not having Martin catching Liriano
-Let Liriano and Howell s*** the bed for too long when it was so bloody obbvious ther got nothing going
I'd rather have a good defensive catcher, than this s***** Salty.
Well nobody's saying Zeke's better than Travis. Travis of course IS a much better hitter.
I wouldn't suggest flipping them in regular season. But in playoffs you need to play hot hands (bats).
His ABs didn't matter yesterday in a blowout, but might have a more (negatif) impact in a close game.
That being said, I know he's a good player and hope he has better ABs todays.
I'd flip Travis with Carrera, and Tulo with Martin.
Travis surprisingly has been looking really really bad at the plate last 2 games. I'm almost happy to see a K instead of a DP.
Hope FO won't change their minds because of this HR. The HR was awesome, but we just needed a sac fly to win at that moment.
If anything, pitching won the game for us tonight, and our BO out-pitched O's BP! That's beautifully done.
