  1. At the game. I think Cashner just got started in his warmup. If he walks to the Blue Jays dugout in between innings I'll let you guys know.
  2. Even f***ing Kershaw got hit by the injury bug this year, at least it's not arm related I guess. Pitchers suxxxxx
  3. That's not really fair though, the MLB draft is a crapshoot.
  4. And that's great that he has, but Sale projects significantly better due to his history of being one of the best starters in baseball, while Sanchez is in his first year of success with less impressive peripherals. Odds are this kind of trade doesn't happen, because the Jays would have to add more pieces to Sanchez, and that's not a direction this team likely takes.
  5. Yeah man totally, there's two sides to this story as usual. I think where j4l19 is coming from here is that even though they've been poor in high leverage spots, some more important stats (for predictive purposes) have been better. Thus, if they keep pitching as they have, in theory, the context based occurrences will even out in the future and they will be better in higher leverage. That's my take on it at least.
  6. You can pretty much live with a complete ******* on your team (as long as he isn't literally hurting his teammates) if he also happens to be one of the best pitchers in baseball, and has a track record of being such, unlike Sanchez. I don't really know how you can say that you believe Sanchez to be already better, albeit he is much cheaper but not necessarily more valuable as a result. Chris Sale has been a legitimate ace for years now.
  7. In terms of advanced stats, I think the closest we have to that is WPA (win probability added), where the Jays' bullpen is 21st at -0.07. We are also 21st in RE24 http://www.fangraphs.com/library/misc/re24/ Basically, the BP has been bad when you consider context. All in all, we've probably had an average bullpen with above average contribution from the parts that pitchers can control, but below average production considering leverage i.e. one too many key hits given up in high leverage spots.
  8. Domingo Acevedo, could someone please notify the next person?
  9. That would completely eliminate the strategy of the pickoff move. One throw over and then the runners take off every time.
  10. It can be spelled either way, one is American English and the other is the more common usage.
  11. He'll be banned when one of the mods gets around to reading this thread. Likewise, also seems that they could have gotten Montgomery for less.
  12. He never argued otherwise. You just can't say that we have a bunch of studs in the making when the vast majority have yet to have proven themselves against advanced competition.
  13. Holy mother of god...that ball had some serious distance!
  14. Meh, good luck getting playing time with Rizzo on the team.
  15. Holy f***, that was like a 420' double, that f***ing sucks.
  16. I'm surprised he didn't crash home on a diving Segura, probably for the best with JD coming up.
  17. Clearly you didn't watch the Royals in the playoffs last year. Or Colabello lol.
  18. GD says: "I'm taking Adrian Morejon of the Padres signed July 7 for $11m or something." Havok is up.
  19. Tulo is so good man, he gets fooled by multiple inside pitches, then drills the next one past the outfielder.
  20. Stroman mixing in the 4-seamer which is nice to see, but the location of it is kind of scary.
