  1. This can f*** right off very quickly.
  2. Okay, so people like you that think the team is mediocre or bad, what about it is bad? What makes you think they'll underperform the projections that currently have the team as a contender (really only with the Angels) for the WC2? The projections assume everyone plays to their career standard putting more emphasis on the previous seasons, with some regression for overperforming players (Smoak), growth for young players, and decline for older players. I don't think there is anything outrageous about them and yet it has us as a pretty decent squad. Really, like any team I think the only thing we need is some decent luck with health, it doesn't have to be Grichuk putting up a 5 win season.
  3. Donaldson is a top 5 player. The rest of the team is fine, it most certainly is not s*****.
  4. A lot has to go right in the way of health, but imo not a lot needs to go right in the way of performance - i.e. if the team plays to projections - for that to be a contending team capable of making the playoffs. Maile and Ngoepe definitely need to be upgraded though. Could Ureña have higher upside for this season? We know McGuire and Jansen will almost surely be better than Maile once they're ready.
  5. Lol at Donaldson being merely "above average".
  6. He basically just gave the projections with some error bars.
  7. It's definitely bold but with Luis Rivera at the helm it's possible. All it takes is a couple of brutal sends in what would be obvious gundown situations with bad throws along with a lot of doubles for him to squeak into positive territory.
  8. I think in a traditional 4-man bench (AL) you'd want two infielders anyway. One backup catcher, one 4th OF, one utility IF who can adequately cover SS and then another all-purpose utility guy who can cover 2B/3B/LF; sometimes one of those spots will be given to good pinch hitters who can't play a lick of defense but I don't think that's as common anymore, specially since if they were a good enough hitter they'd be starting at DH or 1B. I kind of wish Pearce would be given some reps at 2B, he's an awful outfielder. For what it's worth, Solarte has played shortstop in the majors before, in fact he started over 20 games there last year so it's no guarantee that Gift will be the de-facto SS backup assuming Diaz is the starter, which I'm not sure is necessarily what will happen. I can see Diaz and Solarte splitting time at short until Travis gets injured.
  9. I thought he was joking but with Jim you just never know. Pretty sure Andruw Jones is the mentor for those guys.
  10. I think you mean Speedy as we've never owned him. Definitely a discrepancy on the sheet there.
  11. It looks like the Hounds are up so I'll PM them.
  12. We'll go with Jeimer Candelario. Edit: Candelario is owned, we went with Senzatela instead (see a few posts after)
  13. I mean it's just over two weeks away.
  14. -Granderson + Pearce/Teoscar/others platoon puts up a 4+ win season -Aledmys Diaz + Solarte put up 3.5 wins covering for Tulo and Travis -Aaron Sanchez is healthy but complete garbage, walks for days -Tim Mayza establishes himself as the second/third best reliever on the team (depending on matchup). Oh is the other, instant fan favourite -All of LoMo/Yonder Alonso/Smoak put up 120+ wRC+ seasons again -Aaron Judge regresses to put up a ~115 wRC+ with a K rate hovering or surpassing 35%, his defense will be bad. Put Gary Sanchez along the same lines here. Stanton on the other hand cruises past 60 HR and is awesome again (ugh), Brandon Drury will inexplicably have a 3 win season -Matt Chapman is a top 5 third baseman by season's end -Ohtani is 2015 Trevor Bauer as a pitcher, ~75 wRC+ as a hitter with good power but ultimately overmatched and hurt by the infrequent plate appearances
  15. My team is full so I won't be able to make any more picks for the duration of the draft. I'll PM next, which is "Laika" lol.
  16. I accidentally added a player thinking this was the DDL where I'd picked him prior, dropped him immediately. My bad guys.
  17. The Raps are the second best team in the NBA. Please show up in the playoffs guys.
  18. You're gonna carry an injured reliever without a team all year?
  19. GD picked David Hernandez. Dinger is next and will be PM'd.
