  1. Osuna didn't really go for noticeably less than what his market value would have been without the domestic violence accusation. We got back a similarly talented reliever with two years of control and two good lottery tickets. Like Boxy said Diaz is also much better.
  2. Lmao why is Jeff McNeil anywhere near this deal? He projects as a 3 WAR 2B at 1/10 the price of Cano.
  3. On the road?
  4. Incredible fourth quarter, now that's a well earned win against a very good team. The defense was superb and the threes were falling, such an outstanding effort.
  5. The Grizzlies are an awful team to play against, they're so good on defense and Conley and Gasol are very crafty on both ends.
  6. Can't wait for everyone (i.e. Toronto media) to twist this into Shatkins ruining the relationship with Donaldson and Chad hometown hero AA swooping in to save the day for the Braves.
  7. I could see Cano being moved for an albatross with a shorter length contract like Tulo (but not actually Tulo) and a decent prospect or two. He's still a very good player. He could earn his contract for the next 2-3 seasons but teams won't be paying prospects for him to break even only.
  8. Calgary Stampeders vs. Ottawa Redblacks. The Roughriders are Saskatchewan's team.
  9. That was ridiculous, sparked a massive run for the Heat.
  10. Hopefully we'll be finished all 30 by next September. Like man I appreciate what they do and how in-depth they go for each org but if they can barely get half of the teams done by Opening Day like last season maybe it's just better to limit it to 20-30 per team.
  11. It's not nearly as obvious as you think. First of all you're getting a sample size of one and a look in slow motion to clearly discern the difference. Second and most importantly, at live speed it'd be extremely difficult to gauge the minimal difference in release point unless he was doing something else to tip the batter off, by the time your brain has processed the lower release point you won't have enough time to make use of that information. Even in slow motion it's difficult to tell where his release point is at. But again, sample size of one.
  12. And that's why you don't want him back, f***.
  13. Nah he needs the rest, give the young guys/G-Leaguers an extended look so they can ease in to the NBA game, maybe give Freddy a few extra minutes since he really needs to find his groove.
  14. I don't think they're great either but over a large body of work Smoak has rated as an average defender by UZR and poor by DRS while Cron has rated about average for both, I think you're really overstating how unplayable the latter is on the field. Maybe Smoak's ability to pick the ball aren't properly weighed or whatever, and I think he's fine, but he's not Matt Olson out there as his lack of mobility likely costs him some plays that others at the position might make.
  15. Smoak is legitimately horrible on the bases, Cron is below average, their difference on the bases is like 5 runs in Cron's favour, which explains the WAR difference with them being pretty much equal everywhere else.
  16. But what about Vlad and Bo??
  17. Don't forget the incredible bullpen! They're going to sign Patrick Corbin and Machado and the team is going to be ridiculous. f*** sakes DiPoto.
  18. He was 23 in A+ and wasn't even that amazing. I'm not too impressed.
  19. The Yankees traded away one prospect of consequence in this deal, a pitching prospect no less, in exchange for an ace. This barely puts a dent in their future, and I definitely hope the Jays are aiming to be competitive at most 3 years from now, hopefully even two seasons once the farm system starts to feed in to the MLB team.
  20. It's an awful return for Paxton. The Yankees come away laughing here.
  21. What the f*** kind of return is that? One top 50 prospect plus two C prospects that are old for their level in exchange for Paxton? Gross, the Yankees made away like bandits on this.
  22. This drug is classified as a psychostimulant, and this is the description of such a drug from some random website: It looks like it can improve alertness or focus which in the context of baseball can be an advantage if someone without a diagnosed mental disorder takes it.
  23. It's starting to seem pretty clear that the Blue Jays and other orgs/scouts in attendance were pretty impressed with Thornton's recent showing in the AFL. I'm still a bit sour on this deal but I trust the FO and there must've been something they really liked from watching him the last few weeks to get them to do this deal.
  24. John Lackey: 2016 - 3.1 WAR 2017 - 0.5 WAR 2018 - out of baseball J.A. Happ: 2016 - 3.1 WAR 2017 - 2.8 WAR 2018 - 3.2 WAR Welp
