This is probably the best I've seen out of Sanchez this season by a long shot. He's still had his couple of walks and times where the command falls off a cliff but the consistency of his fastball, specially up in the zone, and his breaking ball has been miles ahead every other start of his.
Look at his pitcher usage, when he makes changes, who he pinch hits and pinch runs for. The bunting is done by traditionally poor hitters. Maybe they have data that supports these decisions, has anyone actually considered that?
The current rule says nothing about contact, it's about runners sliding past the bag. Grichuk made a textbook slide under the new rules and Profar f***ed it up. Under the old rules he could have leveled Profar and ended up with the same result except potentially an injury.
Sanchez made one good pitch with the curveball and then lost it. Davis was basically an automatic strikeout with a decent curveball on the outside corner.
Stop man, the rule is meant to protect middle infielders from getting taken the f*** out and risking injury. The umps made a bad call and replay rightfully overturned it. Good job MLB.
