  1. Tough play but he looked pretty comfortable there.
  2. Good thing Chad Pinder came up to redeem himself.
  3. That was uh, an interesting effort from Mark Canha.
  4. Chad Pinder has not had a good game.
  5. Sanchez's overall SwStr% was 9.5 lol. An encouraging 17% on the four seam fastball, but none on the two-seam/sinker (29 thrown), 2/18 on the curveball, 1/10 on the change. For a fun added measure, his average EV on contact was 87.7 to Thornton's 83.5, though I will say that I believe both of those are below league average, Thornton's obviously much more so.
  6. 103 pitches, 17 swinging strikes for an excellent 16.5%. An insane 18.5 SwStr% on the fastball, 10% on the curveball and 3/8 swing and misses on the cutter/slider.
  7. Attaboy Thornton. It was shaky but a lot of positives to take away from this start.
  8. If Maile framed that better that was a strikeout.
  9. f***, the one time someone waits back on the big slow curveball, just missed it.
  10. Maile is taking a pounding behind the plate. That's like four foul balls off his mask in two at-bats.
  11. Those last two outs were the hardest hit balls of the game at 107 and 105 mph. s***** luck.
  12. It's all good, Eric Sogard is leading off the next inning. We'll get that run back in no time.
  13. Chad Pinder having a rough time out there lol.
  14. Brito might look awful at the plate but he looks so stable in RF. I'd shudder to think what Teoscar would do in a ball hit like that.
  15. Beautiful sequence, three perfectly located fastballs where Maile wanted them.
  16. You mean elite hitter Eric Sogard?
  17. Eric Sogard again! What a complete stud!
  18. Some good pitches to Pinder there. Consistency is obviously the issue with Thornton right now, the stuff is there and the command isn't the worst you've seen but it does need a lot more polish.
  19. Give it a week and Statcast will be able to tell us his sprint speed which will answer this question.
  20. He has 16 career WAR by age 26. Explain to me how exactly he hasn't put it together? He's one of the best pitchers in baseball.
  21. Kawhi Leonard is too good lol.
  22. The crowd got HYPED for Vladdy haha.
