  1. So a Cuban IFA signing from last year who appeared to be out of pro ball a few years (probably trying to gain MLB signing eligibility) and another IFA signing from a few years ago who seems to be forever away and is super raw. That is decidedly not a sexy package for a very good reliever.
  2. I'd say every pitcher understands that limiting walks is incredibly important. With strikeouts it's definitely up to their philosophy and understanding of the game (for better or worse). There's definitely pitchers that emphasize strikeouts and just getting a swinging strike pretty much every time. You're starting to see a lot of that with all of the pitch tunneling guys, those that work with Driveline and other similar organizations in the offseason. I can almost guarantee there are some other guys that are on the opposite spectrum, their goal is to generate weak contact, keep their pitch count low, and go deep into games (not relevant for relievers). I can't say what the split would be like but I'd say the strikeouts guys outnumber the latter at this point, and they are climbing, but both likely have strong representation among players.
  3. Great hit Randal, nice wheels Gurriel.
  4. The A's love having a loaded BP over a good starting rotation.
  5. Every team is just leaking fake info out there to try to gain leverage. We really shouldn't read anything into these rumours until one of the big names says a deal is done or close to it.
  6. While the throw to second was perfect and stopped the damage from going any further, I feel like Jansen could have waited back on the ball and potentially have gotten the tag down for an out. That was an excellent throw from LF by Gurriel.
  7. By the way a 6th is the highest offer for Howie Kendrick, for those keeping score.
  8. Guys are given hits on scorchers that eat up the fielder all the time, I don't think that particular ball was any different. If Drury even has the reaction time to put his body in front of that he has a bruised wrist or lower body injury.
  9. That was hit at 107 mph off the bat, I don't think Drury even saw it.
  10. Are you f***ing kidding me? That was clear as day, f***'s sake.
  11. That's a nice catch by our video guy.
  12. I lol'd at your comment, and you're totally right here, but does anyone actually use RotoGraphs? I thought most of their writers were either pretty bad and/or condescending?
  13. Breaking news: seller team may have contacted buyer team with the trade deadline looming 5 days from now. More at 7.
  14. Since Turnbull hasn't been added to my roster/dropped from silvergun's team yet and my roster is now full, I'll trade Howie Kendrick for the highest pick offered by end of day, or just drop him if no one offers anything.
  15. If anyone is looking to take a flyer on previously good but currently underperforming 1B options I have Jose Martinez (OF eligible) and Jesus Aguilar available. Surprisingly good and with multiple eligibility Howie Kendrick could be moved, his price is very reasonable.
  16. I have room to add him without dropping anyone so if he's dropped from sg's team I can just add him or whatever.
  17. Turnbull headed my way for my 2nd round MiLB and FTD's 3rd.
  18. Mike Trout is the best hitter in baseball. According to Statcast, Mike Trout's xwOBA (.475) is higher than his actual wOBA by 27 points. Mike Trout is the best hitter in baseball and he's underperforming his batted ball stats. The next highest xWOBA is Bellinger at .457. Mike Trout is good guys.
  19. There is no chance you'll be seeing Manoah pitching at the MLB level next season. Pearson will depend on his health but you very likely will see him next year. You should not lump them together.
  20. His consecutive start losing streak yes, but he still has a consecutive decisions losing streak going.
  21. I don't like it that much because there's no real impact player/prospect, but it's two 45s, a 35+/40 and a player coming off consecutive 3.5 win seasons who's controllable under 2022, projects as an average hitter, can play a good 3B and an average 2B. It's really not as bad as you guys think.
  22. Ah yes, just before some of the worst strike calls in Major League postseason history. Good times.
  23. Concussions don't fall under the change of scenery umbrella. Most of those cases are usually performance combined with mental (psychological) issues, Pompey's scenario is much different.
