It was a 25man roster issue, not a 40man roster issue. They needed a MLB roster spot and the BP depth they'll call up someone else in 4 days for the start.
Bautista tweeted after the game that it was just a cramp. Expects to play today. Travis was saying he is going to try and play through it, doesn't expect to miss any time either.
Goins is a decent bench piece but he's not an everyday player. After him it's probably Andy Burns or Johnathon Goins-lite Diaz. There is no way they can move Tulo mid-season.
I think it really comes down to whether the Jays make the playoffs in the next two seasons. If they make the playoffs losing a young ace (if one of Hoffman, Tinoco or Castro pans out that way) wont matter.
