  1. Yeah I'm thinking 4/80 or 5/90.
  2. If anyone wants to place a 50$ wager on the total amount of EE's contract (excluding potential team options). I'll take the under on 90.5 million. Any takers?
  3. lol EE is not getting anywhere close to 150 million. And there's plenty of cheaper options to replace EE.
  4. Anyone want any paid content from BA posted since I'm on the site right now?
  5. BEST PURE HITTER: OF Josh Palacios (4) has natural rhythm, timing at the plate and a track record of hitting. It’s doubtful Toronto would have been able to wait so long to draft him had he not broken his left wrist on April 7 playing for Auburn. SS Bo Bichette (2) has good strike zone awareness and shows the ability to make adjustments with two strikes. BEST POWER HITTER: Bichette has an unorthodox swing but isn’t afraid to let the bat fly, producing plus raw power that played in his pro debut. Toronto will try to keep him at shortstop as long as possible, but he could end up at second or third base. FASTEST RUNNER: OF Dom Abbadessa (23) is a plus runner with some defensive polish; OF Chavez Young (39) is similarly a plus runner with much more rawness to his game. BEST DEFENSIVE PLAYER: Palacios and OF J.B. Woodman (2) shared time in center field and right after signing; both have a chance to be above-average center fielders, and Woodman’s arm makes him a potentially above-average right fielder as well. BEST FASTBALL: RHP T.J. Zeuch (1) rode his fastball into the first round. It sits in the 92-94 mph range and plays up with sinking life down in the zone. RHP Kyle Weatherly (8) has touched 95 mph and has the best velocity in the class. BEST SECONDARY PITCH: RHP Zach Jackson (3) has a hard breaking ball, a tight 12-to-6 curve thrown with power that has 70-grade potential on the 20-80 scouting scale. BEST PRO DEBUT: Bichette ranked second in the Rookie-level Gulf Coast League in RBIs (36) even though he missed a month with appendicitis; he hit .427/.451/.732 in just 82 at-bats. 1B/3B Bradley Jones (18) led the Rookie-level Appalachian League in home runs (16) and slugging (.578) while hitting .291. Palacios hit .330/.397/.426 in three stops, spending most of his time at short-season Vancouver. BEST ATHLETE: Palacios has baseball athleticism, while Young is twitchier, faster and a bit more explosive. OF D.J. Daniels (6) has power and speed befitting his three-sport high school background and James Madison football scholarship offer. MOST INTRIGUING BACKGROUND: Bichette’s dad Dante hit 274 home runs in 14 big league seasons; older brother Dante Jr. played Double-A in the Yankees’ system the last two years. 2B Cavan Biggio (5) is the son of Hall of Famer Craig. LHP Luke Gillingham (37) is one of Navy’s most decorated pitchers ever and is stationed in his native San Diego, assigned to the USS Stockdale, a guided missile destroyer. CLOSEST TO THE MAJORS: Jackson’s path in a bullpen role will depend on his ability to throw strikes. LHP Kirby Snead (10) could move faster with a three-pitch mix and left-on-left experience out of Florida’s bullpen. BEST LATE-ROUND PICK: Young stands out. LHP Travis Hosterman (11), who got a $400,000 bonus, is further away but has projection in his 6-foot-3, 190-pound frame and three pitches with potential. THE ONE WHO GOT AWAY: RHP Chris Lincoln (13) has a clean arm and projectable 6-foot-4, 175-pound frame, but the Jays couldn’t sign him away from UC Santa Barbara.
  6. TORONTO–When the season started, righthander Danny Barnes and lefthander Matt Dermody knew one another only from spring training. The relievers were familiar by face and by name but little more. A quick promotion for Dermody made them teammates at Double-A New Hampshire before Barnes jumped to Triple-A Buffalo. Dermody joined him about a month later. On Sept. 2, the two 26-year-olds took another step forward, this time together, as a couple of September callups. Neither pitcher was really on the radar back in February, but they closed out the year in a big league pennant race. Barnes even made the postseason roster. “You’re always excited, especially in that situation, because you move up together and go through some of the same things everyone has to go through when you go somewhere new,” Barnes said. “It makes it easier when you have a familiar face. When I heard he got called up in September, I was thrilled.” Says Dermody: “I pretty much go to him for all my questions because I’ve gotten pretty comfortable around him. I’ve spent the most time with him, on this team at least.” Barnes, a 35th-round pick in 2010 from Princeton, forced his way to the majors by recording an 0.73 ERA, a strikeout rate of 11.3 per nine innings and 0.47 WHIP in 61.1 innings. He made his big league debut on Aug. 2 against the Astros before being optioned and recalled again in September. Dermody, a 28th-rounder in 2013 from Iowa, was similarly dominant at three minor league levels, recording an ERA of 1.82 and WHIP of 1.16 in 54.1 innings before his September promotion. Along the way, they’ve formed a bond. “No one else really has that perspective, because who else has been through two previous levels this year?” Barnes said. “It’s nice to be able to talk to someone about it.” JAYS CHATTER • The Blue Jays fired scouting director Brian Parker and national crosschecker Blake Davis in August. “It’s not about fault. It wasn’t about something they didn’t do,” general manager Ross Atkins said. “It wasn’t about anything other than a different vision, structural change and alignment being different from what was in place before.” • Toronto also fired minor league field coordinator Doug Davis and minor league pitching coordinator Sal Fasano.

  8. Everyone needs a little chocolate thunder in their lives every now and then. I'd take a flier on him on a one year deal.
  9. Yeah. Dickies book was enjoyable. I'd recommend it.
  10. Hi Todd. What do you think of Bo Bichette? Baseball America gave him a bunch of love recently, do you see him being the #1 prospect anytime soon?
  11. I'm surprised there hasn't been a "Buck's hair appreciation Thread".
  12. Ugh. This thread is getting me so pumped for the offseason. So many options and big decisions to make!
  13. Has he actually said that or are you just talking out of your ass? I can see why wanting to play CF on a one year contract would have it's appeal to increase your value. He's going to get 4 years though, so it's pretty much his last significant deal. I don't see why playing RF or CF would move the needle much. He will take the most money.
  14. I don't really see why he would need to play CF. He's not a great defender at CF, and it's his last shot at a big contract. After taking a pillow contract with the Cubs I think he looks to cash in on a multi year deal. With us getting two picks from Edwin + Jose we can afford to lose 1 to get a guy like Fowler.
  15. Yeah, although it would only be one net draft pick as Fowler is going to get a QO from the Cubs.
  16. Dexter Fowler RF + Matt Holiday DH would be great replacements for Joey Bats and Edwin.
  17. Not a bad idea. It's nice we don't have to worry about the "Boras factor" anymore. I wonder if him and Tulo are still buds from their Rockies days, maybe he could put in a good word.
  18. If we lose Cecil to free agency i think a couple perfect value replacements would be Boone Logan or even Jerry Blevins. Logan had a fantastic year; 3.37xFIP while playing for the Rockies and an amazing 16.4SwSt%. He's 33 and i would think we could get him on a one year deal. Blevins would be my next choice as a LOOGY. Vs lefty hitting; 2.84 xFIP, 12.12 K/9, 2.77 B/9.
  19. Just got home. Why Did the Dodgers pull Maeda so early with Lester up? Hurt or?
  20. I'm squinting really hard here and I just don't see it. He probably projects around 100wRC+ going forward while being a butcher in RF. Sounds like a recipe for a replacement level shitbag.
  21. That's disgusting.
  22. Ewwww. Edit. I thought you said you wanted Jay Bruce. lol
