    At the very least, Vlad had proven that he can and will turn into a pumpkin for extended periods. That's going to cost him a lot on his next contract. I hope. I don't mean a literal pumpkin. That's Kirk. I mean a metaphorical pumpkin. Vladdy is more like a pear.

    there were two players involved in this play - Vlad and Garcia. Rivera misjudged both of them at the same time. It was truly spectacularly bad.

    So we trade two good pieces for a midget-size lefty whiff machine who has to have a pumpkin-shaped catcher hit for him. Then with the game on the line, our best choice for the next AB is Espinal. dafuq outta here Shatkins.

    I'm looking at flying with my 11 year old son to a Jay's series this season. For people who have travelled with the team, what do you recommend? Right now I'm looking at Chicaco in the first week of July. We're in Calgary so direct flights are easier to the western cities. Any other ones I should look at?

    Just a reflection of my higher expectations for Vladdy than anything.

    I'll say it, I'm more disappointed in Vladdy this season than Manoah. Manoah's struggles didn't really come as a surprise.

    Moving goalposts? My point isn't complicated. The management of this organization cannot properly maximize assets because they are under constant pressure to win now from ownership. It's easier to make bold decisions on players when nobody is paying attention.

    I dont view it as a particularly controversial point. The org has bare cupboards for a reason.

    The only other explanation for their inability to manage assets properly is incompetence... But I don't think that's the whole story. I think the management of the Jays is given marching orders to always win now.
