Sometimes, I feel Rays have more fans in this forum than among the people that show up to their games.
They have a lot of contact/speed though which definitely pays off in the current meta.
In any case, we face them in 3 days!
Berrios v. Rasmussen
Kikuchi v. Beeks/Fleming
Manoah v. McClanahan
I think we can take the latter 2.
Sucks that we don't face Elfin but also thankful we don't face Springs.
The barrels are what's concerning, even when his pitches have movement and/or off the plate. Missed fastball locations are one thing, but batters are squaring up the slurves (which shouldn't happen considering what it does).
Considering the teams, would it not have been better if Manoah and Gausman started in the Rays series, i.e. skip a Manoah start?
Gaus/Bassitt/Berrios for Tigers
Manoah/Kikuchi/Gaus for Rays
Same can be done by letting Manoah go today and skipping a Gausman start.
Or is skipping one start detrimental to the rhythm of a pitcher?
Vladdy right behind him at 0.8 where the 3 ahead of him (Duvall at 1, Robert at 0.9) play OF and all the ones he is tied with (Trout, Franco, Outman, Judge, Reynolds) play OF/SS.
Mashing atm.
KK 9 M, Merrifield 6.7 M are also out.
We'd have holes at 3B, CF and DH.
Yankees could probably dish out the money for Chapman since JD is coming off books, and that will flat out suck seeing him in pinstripes.
Anyone else think they sign Chap and Vlad long-term and let Bo go after his current contract is done in 3 yrs or is it pretty much a foregone conclusion we'll let Chap walk and take the comp pick (assuming he continues his current pace)?
We got Barger and Orelvis but losing what Chap provides defensively (and perhaps resurgence offensively) is going to succccccccccccccccccccck.
