Machado, sorry. Have you seen Lawrie's throws? Really hard, but too frequently off the mark (Lind & EE saved him so many times). Also he doesn't have the "softest hands", often fumbles and has to recover.
But AA is in a more stable position than ever - attendance is up like 20-30% this year? At the end of the day (and I hate that expression) that's the main thing Rogers cares about.
Look at what he's done with the SP - a merry-go-round of starters coming up and down. Honestly what kind of organization determines a pitchers continuity (worth) based on 1-2 starts in the big leagues (under nervous conditions). So many colossal f***-ups this year because he's panicking with his finger on the trigger(s).
Yeah but didn't AA fire many of his so-called scouts? And I also heard him say that he was going to stop making key decisions that he doesn't believe in (he said this last prior to the big trades/moves), supposedly because some of them back-fired... he did not say which of course. So you could say this year is a result of AA bypassing the scouts and making his own calls.
Was thinking the same. More like a really really good sales person (for example I can see him being one of the elite Firestone Tires salesman in Canada). He can really talk the talk.
Yeah honestly I don't know why I said that, that was stupid. I just think he's to some extent over-rated in terms of speed on the base-paths.
Didn't meant to be a snark, it's just that it seems you're never wrong until you are actually proven wrong.
