This is funny because I was arguing with someone over Redmond being better than Happ because he has better control, and the person went on to say how his BB/9 is not a reflection of him having better control. Infact the argument was enough that I altered my view-point of the defintion of control. If a pitcher just throws balls down the middle of the plate he's going to have a low walk rate but that doesn't mean he has good control, actually he probably has bad control. Happ is a guy that has to work the sides of the plate because he has to, he does this effectively enough, I never said he had great control or even good control, I said he has pretty good control.
Yeah he walks too many. Yeah he nibbles. He still has pretty good control. He has to do those things because his stuff sucks and his velocity is nothing special, or else he'll get pounded.
The game started off with JPA not being able to make a good throw back to Happ and Happ not being able to catch it. Looks like we're in for a ball buster!
