    If the Reds gave a discount on Joey Votto then yea I would absolutely have to think about it. No way I give up a lot of value for that contract though. He would be a dream come true for the first few seasons but could become a nightmare by the end of that contract. If AA is willing to go much more all in that 2012 offeason than I would be down.

    Yea no way can AA be done. This didn't really fill any holes ... It just gave us a big upgrade at 3B.

    So many players on the A's I would have loved to see AA add to the deal haha but i'll take one the best 3rd basemen in the game.

    Wow. You are f***ing delusional. This was a great gamble for the A's. Lester was a top 5 pitcher in the entire game last year and was a huge reason they even made the playoffs. The Red Sox aren't going to get much for Cespedes. Beane has made some bad deals but this was not one.

    My view of this whole thing from the start has been AA just didn't want to sign Melky back but if he can get him on a 3 year deal that would be so sweet.

    Just no. That team was FAR FAR FAR from all in. J.P. Arencibia was the starting catcher with no back up plan. Did you see our second basemen that year. It was f***ing Izturis and Bonifacio. We didn't sign any big free agents... Instead we traded a ton of prospects for a lot of big contracts. Going for it would have been signing Greinkie that winter and not praying that Brandon Morrow is healthy or Josh Johnson can put together a season, or Ricky Romero is going to rebound. There were still a ton of question marks on our roster. And most of the questions were answered negatively in the end. Good try though.

    Ya he would fill a very similar role to Lind which would make this a weird transaction ... Reddick however could be pretty great in LF. Huge defensive upgrade.
