  1. I've always found that most teams and most sports have certain players that operate as perfect barometers for determining if someone gets that sport/team, or if they are a f***ing moron. My favorite example of this is Tony Romo in the NFL. Anyone who thinks that Tony Romo is bad or "unclutch" is objectively a moron. The same thing applies in hockey with PK Subban. The example I always use for the Blue Jays is Brett Cecil. You can tell A LOT about someone as a Jays fan simply by asking them how they feel about Brett Cecil.
  2. I'm skipping the first 11 pages of this thread, so apologies if this has been asked. Would there be money to sign EE and Reddick/Fowler? If that's doable, I'd like that. Platoon Zeke/Upton, and figure out DH as we go.
  3. Gibby got the right nine in pretty close to what I would describe as the right order, just blew the DH choice. I would have gone JB JD EE Tulo Upton Martin Zeke Pillar Barney Could have lived with Zeke at the top and flipping Barney and Pillar
  4. If that's their logic, I think it's a mistake. I think you are probably better off just leaving Upton in for one AB against "Generic Righty Middle Reliever" to save him for the possibility of seeing Miller in innings 6-9. The caveat being the leverage isn't off the charts in said theoretical at bat, however if that was the case it would probably be Miller anyway. This is a long winded way of saying that I think Bautista should be DH and Upton in the OF, especially because Pompey is available as a defensive option late if need be.
  5. Comments were taken way out of context. I think you're overreacting Boxcar
  6. Why do you respond to the dog?
  7. Pray they BABIP their way past the Sox.
  8. It's important for my stress levels that the Jays don't drop the first two games again. That was tough.
  9. Gibby did a really good job last night.
  10. Alex Gordon - and yes, he was brutal this year.
  11. I steered clear of here until about half an hour ago, but now that I'm online I'm getting very nervous and am not able to focus on work.
  12. z3r0s you need some Joe Mauer in your life
  13. Everyone knows the coolest people are part of the 4 Time Playoffs Club.
  14. I view starting this as my greatest contribution to this league, and also a leading factor in convincing you to return to the board.
  15. The ship is sinking, play for yourself.
  16. This is the thread that gets pulled on which unravels the entire DDL, isn't it?
  17. Bet you didn't realize that you just opened up Pandora's Box here, eh slugger?
  18. Perhaps the Rangers. Nationals. Yankees. CWS. Mariners. Phillies.
  19. It's possible I'm just way off base, but I really think someone would pony up if Tulo was ever available on the open market.
  20. I get what you're saying, but the issue is it only takes one (ok, maybe two) GMs to be desperate for an "elite" bat at SS or to pay ticket price for 2013 Tulo, and all that stuff doesn't mean s*** anymore. I think you're taking a normative approach, but pragmatically Tulo would get PAID.
