    someone (ie not me) should probably edit this rule for future season. This league legit needs a njh-style overload badly. Someone to kick ppl in the ass when things need to happen and doll out judgments on the fly.

    Really its a spirit vs letter of the law thing. I see the argument while its legal, and its compelling if you are a 'letter' type guy. The spirit was clearly that these dudes are waiver dudes. I have not stake, and I don't care about this as much as something like the DDL.

    I see your highlight in the your rule thing Spank, but I think that would just complicate things. Guys who are drafted in not the first few rounds often don't sign a contract for a while, and we want them draft eligible. That being said, I agree with you that this dude shouldn't be in the prospect draft. I say this as a guy with no stake in this as I wasn't getting him in the prospect or waiver draft in any circumstance.

    The rule was put in place specifically for guys like this. He really shouldn't be eligible for the prospect draft. I could see the argument however as he WAS drafted and a team did hold his rights this whole time. The intent of the rule was exactly this however.

    Its a lot easier to dream on Pearson, Manoah, or Woods Richardson developing into a #2 than a legit #1. I feel confident we can put together a back end of the rotation. Cole makes a lot of sense here. Might be a tough sell to get him here however.

    I can see us picking 5, but I don't see us "catching" anyone ahead (behind) us. I'd be somehow disappointed if we picked as low as 8, but really the most important things is our young position players playing well. The pitching should keep us in "contention" for 5

    I tend to agree. We have 4-5 pitchers covered. We have a few pitchers would 'could' pitch at the top of a rotation if things work out. But having a legit ace at the top is probably the only way we get 'competitive' in any kind of near time-frame. Would be nice to see them grab a top flight pitcher and someone who could reliably pitch as at least a #3.

    You guys writing me off already? I'm still in the power ranking playoffs and my rotation has been devastated basically the whole year between shoulders, backs, and cancer. Not to mention that dick Kimbrel. On that note, I would entertain offers on anyone who isn't part of the core coming up to this deadline. I'm fence sitting on weather to push for the 8th seed or just accept reality.

    He's also like 35 tho. He hasn't fallen off yet, but it happens quick when you're that age. No doubt it makes HOU better for this run, but I think you're super happy right now as a D-backs fan with that return

    I like Fish as an asset. I have no issues dealing Sanchez for him and Cal and Biagini are both really nothing worth stressing over. But I don't think this was a great value trade, which seems to be a concerning pattern.
