  1. There needs to be a 'let me fangraphs that for you' link 23.1% career (and pretty much that last year). A little much for his skill set, but hardly a SO machine.

    NHL Thread

So listening to Andrew Walker and he just said he thinks Ovechkin will beat Gretzky's goals record (or be close). Is this as crazy as I think, or am I missing something? Gretz; 894 goals Ovi; 501 at 30 years old. Say he gets to 50 this year (+/- for sure). He's gotta score like 45 goals a year for the next 8 years to match Gretz, including his age 36-38 seasons. Thoughts?
  3. I have a hard time figuring out how much Jackson will earn. But if he would come cheap and know that he wouldn't be guaranteed a spot, he makes sense as a target.
  4. that's entirely up to you, how much troll feed to you have?
  5. repent now BTS... its the only way
  6. Looking to deal vets this year as I don't think I can climb back into it. Specifically looking to deal Hudler and Chara.
  7. Hey juiced, is it possible to switch the PM system over to something similar to the Pro Board system? If you are unfamiliar, a PM is basically like a new thread shared only between the parties involved. It doesn't have the annoying quotes of the previous PM's in the chain. The system on here is frustrating. Its an upgrade I would donate towards.
  8. I also disagree with dispersal. Just get a new owner. It best maintains the league integrity.
  9. Boo, I am an on the record Silvergun fun. Stay buddy!
  10. If so, I will admit I was blind to it. If so, Boxy is apparently a dick. I generally give people the benefit of the doubt when I have 'known'them for a long period.
  11. I guess I just thought Boxy wouldn't troll me for the lolz given we've been posting on the two forums together for many years... s***... Let alone KK
  12. But I haven't owned Ozuna for a long long time... not sure what to make of this.
  13. You got me, I only like players I own. Are you f***ing kidding me. And how is what I said me being on his jock? Apparently I've got on your bad side at some point (I imagine before the Pedro thing). Luckily I DGAF if we aren't internet friends.
  14. btw, even if Sanchez does outperform his FIP in the long term (which I didn't assert), would that really help me much as an owner? His ERA would be ok, but he still doesn't strike people out and his OBPa will always be hurt by his walks and that fact he has guys putting the ball in play. The only reason he is a possible keeper is that he's an SP eligible RP who collects holds on a good team. If I had a stronger roster he wouldn't be a keeper at all. But I must only be defending him (which I don't really think I was doing) because I own him and this he is awesome. My comment was more about trying to evaluate who might out perform their FIP.
  15. I withdraw my comment, I am surely wrong as I own this player in a fantasy league.
  16. Its obviously not fair to call Sanchez an elite reliever right now. The results have been good, but the underlying numbers are not to that standard. On the other hand, I don't think its fair to call him some sort of bust already. Reasonable people take FIP stats as the best way to evaluate how well a pitcher has actually performed. Its not really an interesting discussion anymore, its been shown to be true. I think the more interesting argument is which pitchers can outperform their FIP in the long term, and why that is. 100% not saying I believe Sanchez will do this, but its interesting to think about.
  17. Boooooooo! (I had the other two bids)
  18. Trade me mine back. What would it take? PM me back!
  19. It will be sad to watch Synder throw to d'Arnaud for years to come.
  20. but nobody was that butt hurt about him being included IIRC
  21. And I agree, this is basically what this whole kerfuffle is about (not even that much to do with Pedro). I understand biases exist. In this instance, I feel pretty f***ing confident that I can control for it, and that it didn't really play much into me bringing up the suggestion in the first place (other than me being more acutely aware that he hasn't signed than I would have otherwise). You guys seem stuck with the idea that because a bias exists, its somehow automatically a very important in my suggestion. That I couldn't possibly largely separate my fantasy interests from real life.
  22. Basically eh. We'll I specifically said it was very small to the point that it shouldn't be used as a reason to not discuss.
