yeah I don't discount the new stats, I just find them less compelling in a game like hockey than a game like baseball that has more defined outcomes. also, glad the Habs are selling. If its me, I deal Markov.

Yeah I haven't bought into advanced hockey stats like I have for baseball. Not that I discount them all together, but I don't think the can just replace some of the traditional measures yet (maybe ever).

Nothing in those scouting reports screams to me that he's going to be a consistent 50 point guy. Seems very 'meh' to me. Pair that with what will probably be a 25-30 pick overall, doesn't seem like a great haul, even for a rental. In any case, we'll see what happens.

ok, since it was brought up, did the LCBO raise its prices fairly recently? I always remember beer being much cheaper in Ontario, but I was looking up keg prices on 'the beer store's website and its actually more expensive than Manitoba. Maybe I just get fooled that its cheaper because you guys do good sales on beer and we rarely do even crappy sales.

He didn't have a no-trade tho did he? So who GAF where he wanted to go. Off the top of my head from last year. Vermette for Dahlbeck and a 1st. Ladd is better than Antointe Franson netted TOR a 1st rounder last year too. Ladd is better than him. Sekera netted a 1st rounder + prospect last year. Vanek got Moulson, a 1st, and a 2nd in 2014. He and Ladd are pretty similar actually Unless you like Dano a LOT more than me, its not that big a haul.

I don't get the (mild) love Dano gets. The guy hasn't produced anywhere... ever.

I'm happy the moved him, but I would have thought there was a better deal out there than Marko Dano (shite) and what will basically be a 2nd round pick. I'm underwhelmed as a kind Jets fan. At least they got something for him.

I don't extend Jose right now. Let the guy play. If he starts to decline... you either don't sign him or sign him for less than he wants coming off a great year If he plays well and; - We are losing. Trade him at the deadline - We are winning. Offer him a QC and try to resign him for a deal that makes sense to you. Draft picks are being valued more and more so this should give us a leg up in negotiations. Worst comes to worst, you settle with the draft pick after a good season. I think it makes zero sense to try and extend him right now. -
