  1. Everytime I pop into these threads you are starting s*** with people. Sad!
  2. There isn't much major league potential on the team since our biggest IFA signing from last offseason is skipping that league. And Kevin Vicuna and Juan Meza, two other high profile signees will likely spend the entire season in the GCL. Norberto Obeso dominated the DSL last season and it doesn't look like he's on the roster anymore so he may even get fast tracked to Bluefield. The catcher Yorman Rodriguez got some hype on here from some posters this past offseason. Looks like the Belgium guy Sam Buelens will be repeating the DSL. Here's an article on Baseball America about some players we signed other than Vlad last summer - All of these players are listed on the DSL roster this season. To avoid paying any further penalties, Guerrero was the only player the Blue Jays signed last year from July 2 on, other than $10,000-and-under bonuses, which are exempt from the bonus pools. One of those $10,000 exemption signings, 17-year-old Venezuelan outfielder*McGregory*Contreras, is a sleeper who showed good hitting and running ability when he signed on July 2, but his tools have ticked up since then. His speed and arm strength are both above-average to play center field and he has impressed the Blue Jays with his ability to hit and show power from the right side from his 6-foot-1, 170-pound frame. Another other player in that exemption group of noteworthiness was 16-year-old Venezuelan righthander Maximo Castillo, who was a high-profile pitcher coming into the year after he pitched for the Venezuelan 15U World Cup team in 2014. Castillo had an agreement with the Yankees, but that deal fell through because of an issue with his elbow during his physical. The Blue Jays were able to sign him for $10,000 in September. Castillo has a heavy frame (6-foot-2, 230 pounds) and has struggled with his control at times, showing a fastball that was 86-89 mph last spring but has been up to 93 with an inconsistent breaking ball. They also signed 20-year-old Dominican righthander Orlando Pascual (6-foot-3, 210 pounds) under the exemptions in August, when he was touching 93 mph, but after signing his velocity jumped and he’s been up to 96-97. Right at the end of the 2014-15 signing period in June, the Blue Jays gave out two low six-figure deals. Dominican righthander Wilton Mueses, 20, signed for $135,000 and pitched in a six Dominican Summer League games out of the bullpen. The Blue Jays saw him throwing 88-91 mph but he had arm problems after he signed and had to shut it down the rest of the season. Toronto also signed 18-year-old Dominican shortstop Ronald Concepcion for $120,000. Concepcion projects to stick at shortstop, where he’s light on his feet with a good glove and average speed. At 6 feet, 170 pounds, he’s a righthanded hitter with gap power.

  20. http://i.imgur.com/bshNa6w.png http://i.imgur.com/QZVve7e.png http://i.imgur.com/VyGe8kX.png In a total team effort, the Buffalo Bisons took down the Syracuse Chiefs, 8-3, Thursday night at Coca-Cola Field. Matt Dominguez led the attack by driving in three runs, two of which came on a blast that dented the mesh halfway up the protective netting beyond the left-field wall. After going 3-for-3 in his last game, A.J. Jimenez had two singles and a walk and came around to score twice, both on hits by Casey Kotchman, including Buffalo's opening tally of the game to make it 1-1 after two innings. The 26-year-old also touched home as part of a two-run sixth to put the Bisons up 8-3. "I'm just trying to make it simple. Just see the ball, hit the ball. I'm trying to stay to the middle of the field and swing at good pitches," said Jimenez postgame. "So far it's working." After injuries slowed his start to the season, Buffalo's catcher is now batting .270, having gone 19 for his last 46. Junior Lake belted two doubles and came home to on David Adams' lined single to center as part of a three-run bottom half of the fifth. Adams was then chauffeured home on what was Dominguez's fifth homer of the year. "The last time we played these guys we weren't swinging the bats very well, so it was nice to break out with the eight runs," said manager Gary Allenson. "It was nice to get production from almost everybody." For the first time in a month, Wade LeBlanc gave up an earned run. Matt den Dekker put an end to an unearned-run streak of 33.2 innings with a solo shot in the top of the first. The lanky lefty allowed three runs over six innings of work, which was still solid enough for his sixth consecutive quality start. The newly minted International League player of the month struck out three and issued one walk en route to his I.L. leading sixth win. Chad Girodo, Pat McCoy and Bo Schultz each hurled an inning of shutout ball in relief. With check marks next to hitting and pitching, the Bisons also added some fine defensive plays. Adams stole a hit away from Matt Skole as he broke to his right, making a spectacular diving grab on the liner as it made its way towards the outfield just beyond second base. Not to be outdone by his co-middle infielder, Andy Burns ran down a soft liner off of the bat of Pedro Severino and snared it in shallow center field on a fully-extended dive. BISONS NOTES: The Bisons have converted 12 double plays over their last six games…The Herd is now an even 4-4 against the Chiefs this year…With the victory, Buffalo moves above .500 at Coca-Cola Field for the first time since winning its home opener on April 14th...With the RailRiders' loss to Columbus, the Bisons will have the chance to move into a tie for first in the International League North tomorrow. http://i.imgur.com/QgdLzrO.png http://i.imgur.com/pHLXXzY.png http://i.imgur.com/qqDUSI6.png http://i.imgur.com/uvas7bT.png HARRISBURG - The New Hampshire Fisher Cats held on for a nail-biter of a victory Thursday night, topping the Harrisburg Senators 2-1 at FNB Field in Harrisburg to secure a series win. The Fisher Cats (25-27) polished off the first series of their road trip with a win, leaving the bases loaded in the ninth inning to hold off their opponents. Harrisburg (27-25) couldn't score on New Hampshire's bullpen, which allowed only a single run (unearned) in the series. It was the first series against Western Division competition for New Hampshire. Harrisburg struck first against Fisher Cats starter Shane Dawson (W, 3-2) in the bottom of the second inning. Neftali Soto led off the frame with a single, and Spencer Kieboom sliced a one-out double into the right field corner to plate Kieboom. Harrisburg assumed a 1-0 lead. New Hampshire evened the score in the top of the fourth against Harrisburg starting pitcher Tyler Mapes (L, 5-3). With one out, Rowdy Tellez ripped a fastball into the right-center field gap, sending it all the way to the wall. Tellez legged out a triple, his first three bagger since August 13, 2014. With two outs, Wilkin Castillo hit a bouncer to the left side of the infield that forced third baseman Adrian Sanchez and shortstop Wilmer Difo to converge. The two collided, allowing Castillo to reach with an RBI single and Tellez to score, tying the game at 1-1. The Fisher Cats moved into the lead in the top of the sixth inning. Jon Berti led off with a single, and moved to second when Dwight Smith, Jr. drew a walk. Melky Mesa fanned, but Tellez knocked an RBI double into the left-center field gap, plating Berti for the go-ahead run and giving New Hampshire a 2-1 lead. The Fisher Cats didn't relinquish the edge, with Jason Berken (H, 2) and Wil Browning (S, 8) combining to polish off the victory. Dawson twirled six strong innings, allowing just one run on four hits and two walks while fanning four to earn the win. Bergen struck out two against three hits over two innings for a hold, and Browning worked around two hits in a scoreless inning for the save. The Fisher Cats open up a four-game series at the Reading Fightin Phils Friday night, with lefty John Anderson starting for New Hampshire against reading righty Ricardo Pinto. First pitch is at 7:05 p.m., and Ben Gellman has the call starting at 6:45 p.m. on the Fisher Cats Radio Network. http://i.imgur.com/hx8eZMv.png http://i.imgur.com/Qn7U0dN.png http://i.imgur.com/HcEkhbG.png http://i.imgur.com/OQkTDEi.png DAYTON, OH - The Lansing Lugnuts (28-24) wrapped up a seven-game road trip with a 5-1 victory over the Dayton Dragons (13-41), completing a three-game sweep on Thursday night at Fifth Third Field. The streaky Lugnuts have won four consecutive games, which follows a four-game losing streak, which followed a four-game winning streak. Jon Harris (Win, 4-1) allowed one run on five hits in five innings, striking out four, before departing due to injury one batter into the sixth inning. The Lugs' bullpen did not miss a beat: Starlyn Suriel set down three Dragons in a row in the sixth, and Patrick Murphy (Save, 2) pitched the final three innings scorelessly, striking out four batters in the process. Gunnar Heidt and Lane Thomas each scored a pair of runs to lead the Lansing offense, which tallied twice in the first inning, once in the fourth, once in the fifth and once in the sixth to pull away. Catcher Ryan Hissey went 2-for-4 with two singles and an RBI, extending his on-base streak to 18 games.
