  1. "We like what he did in SEPTEMBER (when we were wayyyyy out of contention)" Goins wasn't even on the radar, now he's a potential starter? Unreal. Why can't they just cut Izturdis, get Franklin or Ackley, and put Goins on the bench where he belongs?
  2. Not getting Franklin or Ackley is just inexcusable... These guys are out there for the taking, and we have embarrassing depth up the middle... WTF? DO SOMETHING!
  3. I agree 100%. No way I'd go back to the "Retardi years". The farm under him was a barren wasteland. I still believe AA is a decent GM (middle of the pack, perhaps better if the ones above him weren't whispering in his ear).
  4. I keep trying to tell myself that there's just no way IzGoins can be as bad as what we had at 2B last year. There's just no way Izturis repeats the season he just had, so by default we'll be better at 2B. We just wanted better. Same can be said about catcher. I'd rather hold on to our farm than make a dumb move at this point. Whatever guys...
  5. So I'm guessing they'd want Lawrie then.
  6. Another illegal alien. Yay!

  8. I'm not defending apartheid, but you fools do realize that South Africa is now worse than ever right? Don't think so? By all means, go visit there and see how "fair" it's become. Mandela supported Fidel Castro, nuff said... Back to Bautista...
  9. Lol @ ANYONE who believes Mandela was a good man. He and his wife were brutal murderers. Keep believing DAT mainstream media lie. Idc either way. Most people are uneducated on history these days anyway, so whatever...

  11. I've already mentally accepted the fact that IzGoins is our 2B next year... Can we at least not stand pat and please not deal Stroman while doing so?
  12. You never see players intentionally go out of the baseline to obstruct the throw at first? Come on man...
  13. To expand a bit on that, who here doesn't think that baserunners intentionally try to knock down the 2B or SS at second base, most times going out of the baseline? How often is that described as "gritty"? Now we're giving special treatment to guys with padding on... Makes no sense.
  14. So why not for first and second base then too? See that's my point... How many guys have you seen get spiked at second, or get their legs clipped out from under them... I'd argue more at 2nd than home. It's just people see the season ender at home every few years, and all of a sudden, let's ban it. I don't like it.
  15. And in cases when the ball is thrown on a line, and both the ball and runner arrive at relatively the same time, and the runner is diving head first, and collides with the catcher unintentionally... How do you call that?
  16. Pretty sure everyone would say that Goins is an MLB ready glove/benchman... The problem is handing him the starting job when we're supposed to contend... Shocked that this is still being argued.
  17. Who was it? Brian Roberts who lost his season that one year at first base? We see countless injuries at second with players getting spiked. If anything, we're giving home plate "special treatment".
  18. You're right. Now they'll just say anything is an intentional collision, without observing the tape. Great rule...
  19. The runners instinct is to score. If the catcher is blocking the plate, how else can he touch the plate without making contact with the catcher? The runner isn't always looking to hurt the guy. It's just part of the game. I actually agree with Zaun. It's actually the runner who has the most to worry about. Like I said, this will lead to a bunch of unnecessary fines/suspensions.
  20. So every collision is intentional now? Guarantee there will be some questionable suspensions off this new rule, and many of the supporters of it will be the first to bitch. Just look at the NFL today. You can't even touch a big name QB, or you're flagged with a "roughing the passer", and/or a fine. You know what I'm saying is right. This will be a disaster disguised as "caring for players"
  21. I mean I wasn't even that big on Ellis, but it's just painfully obvious that this team views Goins as a starter... Pathetic... f*** AA
  22. Blasphemy! Angrioter is never wrong, nor are his sources!
  23. If we got him for that price, I'd send Sanchez without hesitation... Whatever... Happ #4 starter here we come!
  24. AA is asleep at the wheel
  25. Goins has late inning defensive replacement AT MOST written all over him... How they can't see this is beyond comprehension... But who are we, right? Looks like we'll be seeing John McDonald part 2 in our lineup most of the year again
