  1. Or perhaps it was AA's plan to relieve Santos salary and it backfired. Therefore, no more trades ;/
  2. Santos clears waivers wat da fuuuuuu
  3. and here I thought he was some random nobody utility player. I never recognized his name as a top prospect.
  4. Gibbers just said that the innings limit for Sanchez is 130 That rules out Sanchez going the Stroman route in starting in the bullpen and then going back to the rotation. Looks like finding a SP is still a possibility
  5. Cliff Lee came off the DL a few days ago and pitched like s***. Apparently no pitch was above 90 mph
  6. If only Delaballs pitched like he pitched last year... Though he had a pretty good outing last time out, striking out 4/6 batters faced. But in his previous appearance to that he still walked 2 guys
  7. I remember seeing that shocker pic when I was in elementary and s***ing myself I wonder if that reaction is fake ;x
  8. Anyways he mixed up players, but I bet you would have the same reaction if he said Votto or Posey
  9. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, but google indicates that in August 2012 they were apart by at least 1 WAR. Maybe before then that they were even or Barney was ahead. Either way, I find it funny how quickly you have come to the defense of WAR when that (and many other examples) show that it is still flawed in some glaring ways. edit: Alright I looked at an article and he may have got his names mixed up. Barney tied war with Votto and Posey. Not exactly Miguel Cabrera, but he still doesn't belong in those discussions. edit2: more info http://www.beyondtheboxscore.com/2012/6/16/3085251/be-wary-of-war-a-cautionary-tale
  10. is that your only retort against that line?
  11. It's no coincidence that these discussions about banning shifts are popping up in David Ortiz's down year. With his tendency to whine I wouldn't be surprised..
  12. Sooo we pretty much DFA'd Deck McGuire for what?
  13. If Pompey turns out to be even an average MLB-er I think this city will go bonkers over him. I mean look at how crazy they are over Lawrie, and he hasn't even had one full season and so far he's been a defensive specialist with the potential to have a premium bat
  14. cause people like #craftybaseball
  15. Some people around baseball are entertaining the thought of 'illegal defense', which would not permit defensive shifts in order to reinvigorate offense in baseball http://www.si.com/mlb/2014/07/22/shifts-rule-change-lefthanded-batters-david-ortiz
  16. We've been extremely fortunate to find not one, but two MVP-quality players by sheer luck and at ridiculous cheap contracts. It's an extreme shame that AA has failed to capitalize on that, just like how Ricciardi failed to capitalize on the best pitcher in baseball in the previous decade.
  17. if we can't afford Headley, we can't afford Rios
  18. f***ing inexcusable that we didn't get him, especially for that price for f*** sakes!
  19. I heard Ty Taubenheim is coming back
  20. Anyone else feel Deck McGuire would have done a better job than this s***?
