    because his stuff is good. And you never know when it clicks for relievers. This team has two pitchers who have been DFA'd before - Hendricks and Schultz. And now they're pitching meaningful innings.

    When Samardzija was with the Cubs he vowed to be the highest paid pitcher in history. Obviously he hasn't been as good as warranted, but it just shows that he is intent on going into FA.
