  1. anyone know if they have replaced Tulo with Goins this game? they should
  2. I guess the only encouraging thing about tonight - not a lot of strikeouts for the Jays
  3. uh, btw, guys, does anyone else see the ad in my signature? "[ad] - Play Daily Fantasy Sports Baseball at FantasyDraft.com, refer your friends and get paid. Click here to start today!" I didn't put that there, am I the only one that sees it?
  4. He won't. We're paying him to be produce like he did in 2014, which is incredibly unrealistic at his age. We were very fortunate last year he was good. He won't age well.

  6. Anyone extremely disappointed in Stroman's demeanor last night in the dugout? I don't think he was mad at Cecil at all, but him roidraging and reacting against the inherited runners scoring isn't exactly supportive. Not to mention he went to hit the showers after his line was finished. Go stick on the bench and support your team until the end of the inning.
  7. I swear we had a week or so last year of Navarro, Carrera, Thole, Goins (pre 2nd half explosion, Kawasaki/Pennington all player at once. I think that was during Bautista's first injury.
  8. bullpen mismanagement if I recall as well as his negative opinion on sabers
  9. If we are going to keep him today and not bother using him, then we absolutely have to keep him for tomorrow and make him piggy back with Dickey.
  10. Carrera hitting like he has been this past weekend was probably the worst case he could have done for us
  11. would be fun to pick apart the Cubs roster
  12. lol I don't work at The Bay. I used to, but I was in the corporate office.
  13. I assume the rule is from the 40-man roster, but if it was from the 25-man roster: Jays: -Venditte -Thole -Barney -Carrera -??? I also wonder if the receiving team must pay the salary
  14. Well if we want to get dark here, how about the loss of life for an entire team (airplane crash?) They would have to enact the Disaster draft https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Disaster_draft "If the commissioner decides that the disabled club will continue to play, the commissioner may hold a Restocking Draft to allow the disabled club to select as many players as it lost, with the restriction that no more than one player can be selected from each team. Each of the non-disabled teams makes five players available for the draft taken from its active list (or if during the off-season, from its reserve list), composed of one pitcher, one catcher, one outfielder, one infielder, and one more player of any position, subject to adjustments by the commissioner based on the players lost by the disabled club"
  15. Knowing whether a test is coming or not is irrelevant, all you need to do is get your opportunity and hope for the best. Pick a PED that stays in the body for several weeks and can be easily detected, for example. You don't even have to target a specific player to cause havoc. Hope a team outing heads to a particular popular restaurant (like Barbarians), slip PED XYZ into the food/drink. BOOM, Verlander gets caught with XYZ, everyone is shocked and will just limit the scope to Verlander. A few weeks later, BOOM, Gose gets caught with XYZ, and then everyone in the baseball world will suddenly ask why the coincidence that two players on the same team got caught with the same drug - is everyone on that team sharing it? Crime syndicates have the resources to concoct such a scheme, especially with gambling as a motivating factor. It's easy to beat a team if they are without their star players because of drug suspensions.
  16. I grew up with the 'devil's advocate' mantra lol. Even at work I have so many unique ideas that when I suggested it to upper management gave me a weird look. For example, I work in retail. Lets say I work for Adidas and my competitor is Nike. I want to sabotage Nike's sales. The best place I can do this is at The Bay since they have a lax refund policy. You can buy a product and return it to any store, no questions asked. You can event return it at a store that doesn't have a Nike fixture or sell those products at that particular location. So what I could do is buy a bunch of high-priced Nike items (high price means less inventory on hand) or even get the company to hire other people to buy Nike product, and then we all return it at lower selling, s***** stores (e.g. buy from Queen flagship and return to Scarborough Town Centre). What ends up happening, is all this new product that Nike wanted to sell to customers actually ends up in stockrooms in stores that can't even carry the item. Customers can't see your product? Then no sales I should set up a consulting firm.
  17. I'm going to play the role of a nefarious person here. It would be extremely easy to screw over an entire team if you wanted to. Assistant clubhouse cook? You can easily taint the food. Acquire easy OTC illegal supplements, grind them into a powder and then sprinkle them into sauces that you include in the food that the clubhouse eats. Work as a barrista at the Starbucks along Front St? Hope you get a chance to serve a player and sneak something in their coffee Work at a high-end restaurant that is frequented by players, like Sotto Sotto and Stroman? Sneak something into their wine glass
  18. Carrera can go 4-4 and it would still be a bad move. No regrats. It's no different than having Josh Donaldson suicide squeeze on a 2-2 count down by 1 run in the 9th. It could work, but 100% of the time its a bad decision.
