    Any chance that when he is back they start him for 3-5 innings depending on pitch count and have Hutch come in for him. 2 Starters for 1 game. Not needing to have a deep pitching performance from either.

    I understand...that why I said in a week or so...that would give him almost 2 weeks as a Blue Jay. If he still isn't hitting, it would hurt to call up Pompey to give him a little competition.

    If Revere doesn't start producing in the next week or so...I'd say call Pompey up and give him a few games to see if one of them can start hitting.

    Exactly...they are not the same. It would be better to go with Price or Cueto if the owners are willing to spend/throw some money away in later years to win now.

    Aren't they 3 and 4 yrs younger than Shields. So, under normal progression of careers the bad part of a 7 yr contract would be after 5 yrs. Better team value than throwing 20 million at a sharply declining 36 yr old in 3 yrs
