Step 1- implement the DH in the NL. Step 2 - some sort of program to help umps improve their calling of the strikes zone, especially to left handed hitters. It speaks volumes when there's like 4 extra inches always being called strikes to lefties that RHB dont have to worry about, and scouting reports on umps to tell you how they consistently miss strike calls or call too many. Step 3 - take a real stance on PEDs and the Hall of Fame. Give the writers specific guidelines to eliminate the "bacne" and heresay "evidence" so many writers use to prevent players they just don't like from getting in. -
Yeah, and he's just passing 105 innings this year now. So, say he finishes around 140 this year, he'd max out around 180 next year.

I think we all know Gose needs to get better at bunting, but it's not like even a great bunter is suddenly going to start getting multiple bunt hits every week. The best modern era season total is 29 by Brett Butler in 1992 with a 57% success rate. -

I guess it does depend on what other teams are doing, but I'd try to get that extension done before other teams have a chance. Losing Melky after this year would be a decent blow to the offense, especially considering AA will never be a serious FA player for anyone of upper talent level.

His defense really is that bad. Defensive metrics hate him, the eye test is no better.

How about a Melky DH and figure something out for LF? Melky is a bad enough defensively in LF that moving him to DH would barely affect his value and the defensive upgrades to someone or a platoon who is just average defensively is 1-2 wins on it's own. You could still run him out there once or twice a week and rotate the others through DH.

He's the same pitcher he was in the first half, just not stranding the same number of runners, higher babip, etc etc. Buerhle is no front of the rotation pitcher but had a really good firsthalf of a season that perhaps made some people think he is a pitcher that he most certainly isn't.

Producers generally don't get involved in the creative process other than hiring the writers, the director and everyone else involved. A producer makes it possible for the movie to be made, but the director is far more responsible for the creative direction once the script is written. The producers in movies hire people, pay the bills and make sure things come in on budget.

The first movie was great. The second was just good. The third was trash. Haven't seen the 4th yet but from all accounts is worse than trash.

The jays usually do move guys up late in the year to give players a taste of what they're going to face the next year. Unless of course they're in the playoffs, then they'll probably stay put
