  1. Well we know one thing.... you won't walk it off.
  2. Like they did against Boston like... 2 days ago?
  3. f***... every inning this goes on the bigger my headache gets Travis walks off after a Carerra double maybe?
  4. He could swing you ya skinny mango thief
  5. No problems with that high strike call. We got it against davis, and it was in the zone.
  6. And if he doesn't go yard, you know Pompey will be running
  7. f***.... losing Osuna for any length of time sucks a giant bag of dicks. Hope he's okay
  8. Player 1: I'm a wigwam, I'm a tepee, I'm a wigwam, I'm a teepee..... PLayer 2: relax man, you're too tense!
  9. 1shot elimination games tend to bring that out
  10. Stroman really struggling with command of his breaking stuff
  11. Well, it's gonna be a short ballgame if the hitters don't start making the pitchers throw strikes. A lot of really over aggressive approaches so far
  12. Not sure what's worse... referencing that movie or that I got it.
  13. How does one know they won't like it until they read it?
  14. Maybe, but what you can't see in that picture is that he's actually trying to choose which of 5 naked sorority girls asses to spank with that ping pong paddle. Spoiler alert... he spanked them all.
  15. I think we can all agree he had Hall of Fame talent and he will have a presence in Cooperstown, whether or not he ever officially gets elected to the Hall.
  16. Regarding life insurance for ballplayers "Each player has life insurance through the league that pays $1 million plus 75 percent of their salary in excess of $1 million. The total is not to exceed $30 million and the club is the sole beneficiary." So players lives are insured, but it's meant to cover the team to offset costs of guaranteed contracts that they would still be required to pay out (he only had the pro-rated remainder of this season left as guaranteed money since he would have been arbitration eligible for the first time in 2017. ). It specifically states that no heirs are eligible for the death benefits. http://www.businessinsider.com/uniform-major-league-baseball-contract-2011-4#-8 So any life insurance payouts to the family would have to be received through an individual life policy if he had one.
  17. I'm guessing he was a long way from medical attention at the time?
  18. I looked into it after I read it too, apparantly after your appendix bursts it's not a necessity to have surgery to remove it, it just tends to shorten recovery time and reduce the possibility of complications. Mortality rate is a lot lower than I thought, apparantly it's actually rare to die from a ruptured appendix unless you get absolutely no treatment
  19. I get the logic there, but why didn't Boston do the same thing with Ortiz then at any point? I know it was a different GM at the time, but still they didn't even give their franchise poster boy that kind if money, so I doubt they do it for Edwin
  20. So it turns out Bichette didn't actually gave an appendectomy. His appendix burst and his body just.... absorbed it according to the man himself. No surgery was performed. What a boss http://m.milb.com/news/article/20160922202752584/jays_bichette_with_brazil_joins_podcast
  21. These no doubt here in Lethbridge AB, the majority of fans are Jays fans. I see hats and gear everywhere. There's still Red Sox and Yankees stuff too, but it's greatly outnumbered
  22. I doubt either guy gets more than 3 years guaranteed, Edwin maybe 4 tops. Teams are alot smarter now when it comes to aging players in the mid to upper 30s that aren't especially athletic anymore (like Edwin) or are still athletic but can't play defense for s*** anymore (bautista). Both are 1b/DH types now though you could still toss Jose out in RF occasionally for flexibility...I'd say 3 years 54m would be as high as I would go, and I'd much rather see 3/48 or something close to it... Ortiz is pretty much the benchmark for Edwin and since his age 34 season he's been between 13 and 16 million Per year, and all on short term deals and options. Beltran wouod be the comparable for Jose amd his recent 3/45 deal,he was 36 when he signed it, so there's that I honestly think even 20 million AAV is a pipe dream for both guys
  23. This straight up sucks. He was supposed to start today's game, which has been cancelled by MLB. The right move considering neither team is in the playoff hunt
  24. And high socks
