  1. Lansing pitcher Yennsy Diaz named Player of the month for April for the Midwest League. Lansing Lugnuts (Blue Jays) right-hander Yennsy Diaz dominated the Midwest League in April, going 3-0 with a 0.31 ERA in five starts (one earned run in 28.2 innings) as he allowed only six hits (four singles, a double and a home run). Diaz did not allow more than two hits in any of his five starts and has not allowed an extra-base hit in his last three starts. Only two runners have reached third base in his last 15 innings pitched (both were stranded there). Diaz, 21, was signed by Toronto out of Azua, Dominican Republic, on May 29, 2015.
  2. Raps are a great regular season team, but what Paul Pierce said a few years ago is 100% true. There's nothing scary about them. They don't have a superstar and you need at least 1 in today's NBA.
  3. Except nobody on the core team was actually brought in by AA, he basically inherited the start of what could be a dynasty and basically just has to sit back, plug a few FA holes with cheap rent-a-veterans and watch while he gets credit for somethung someone else built. Nice gig if you can get it.
  4. It's what an NBA fan woild be tortured with in hell, being forced to watch DeRozan ISO ball at the end of quarters and halves for eternity
  5. Was the Tristan Pompey 1st round talk all legit or has he had a bad spring dropping him out of 1st round draft possibilities?
  6. This boy covers some ground... Holy s***
  7. Erection inducing performances of the day: Sean Reid-Foley, Cavan Biggio, Juan Kelly, Chavez Young, Kevin Smith, Brock Lundquist, Nash Knight, Bradley Jones, Sam Gaviglio Honourable Mentions: Zach Logue, Kevin Vicuna, Christian Williams, Ivan Castillo, Bo Bichette, Harold Ramirez, Rowdy Tellez,
  8. From Baseball America's April 30 Prospect Hot Sheet: https://www.baseballamerica.com/stories/top-mlb-prospects-hot-sheet-43018/ And I'll just repeat that last line in case anyone glossed over it... He's been kept off base in just 21 games as a pro.... out of 200 games.
  9. Just sayin... but Morales has positive baserunning value right now...
  10. LOL. Definitely. Actually a little hot streak now may help KC trade for him.
  11. you dare try to usurp me???? The nerve of these kids today.....
  12. Players of the Day: Kacy Clemens, Christian Williams, Josh Donaldson, Joshua Palacios, Cavan Biggio, Vlad Jr, Tim Lopes, Honourable Mentions: Brock Lundquist, Norberto Obeso, Jonathan Davis, Rowdy Tellez, Roemon Fields
  13. Wild pitches and defensive miscues happen, but jesus f***in' christ .... YOU LET KENDRYS MORALES STEAL A BASE. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL f***!?
  14. Why would you use your foot? Seems kinda silly to me.
  15. Nobody hates Pillar, just don't like it when he's seen as this great hitter when every indication is contrary to that conclusion. He's hot right now though, no question about it
  16. He doesn't have actual proof though, just some data correlations and some not very subtle suggestions about Houston's recent track record of trading for pitchers and suddenly watching their spin rates increase and subsequently their performance get markedly better. I think his point is not that Houston should be in trouble, but that it should just be allowed. Data correlations aren't really evidence of substance use. Pictures, videos, and/or actual admissions from pitchers would be evidence, assuming any such videos or pictures amount to more than seeing 1 guy do something 1 time.
  17. Average age in the Eastern Leae this year is 24.3. He's actually 5 years younger than league average, whereas a typical prospect that people talk about is about 3 years younger than average. Vlad's bat is the cure for male erectile dysfunction in Canada
  18. I'm absolutely in favor of something like this for Vlad Jr but getting the dollars and years right would obviously take some tweaking. I'm not worried about what Vlad's body type does to him for the next 10 years until he's 30, when Prince Fielder was still a beast up to 29 and he was never even close to being in the shape Vlad is now. After 30.... yeah, worry. Some might use Sandoval as a comparison, but Sandoval had nowhere near the elite bate that Vlad or Fielder had, and even he didn't crater until he was 28. I'm also pretty sure Jr's agent isn't with one of the big-time agencies so might be more open to this type of deal. It also might be the best way to get him in the lineup while avoiding any of the service time manipulation issues like Tampa Bay is seeing with Adames. I can understand an argument keeping him down for a while this season since it's his first crack at AA, he's never really had any adversity at the level yet (blah blah blah), but if he's not a full time Jay on opening day 2019 after raking all of 2018 at AA and/or AAA, then the FO deserves any and all criticism it receives for manipulating service time. I don't really care how it's more strategic for the business side. Rogers doesn't have to be Tampa Bay or Oakland and I wish MLB and the MLBPA would really start punishing teams for holding back talent that is obviously ready to play for their respective MLB teams.
  19. Players of the Day: Vlad Jr, Jason Leblebijian, Tim Lopes Honourable mentions: Rowdy Tellez, Cavan Biggio, Harold Ramirez
  20. Anyone telling you something will definitely happen because of analytics is an idiot and doesn't actually understand them, what they are for and is probably just trying to sound smart. And anyone that bashes them is usually a dinosaur like Buck and Pat and Harold Reynolds... like if there's one thing that analytics doesn't account for then it must be useless and long live the eye test.. because that's never failed ever.
  21. Might be banking on a demotion to AAA at some point due to a roster crunch since he did caveat by saying "assuming he is still in the majors"
