  1. Don't throw strikes to Ohtani and he will chase. Our game plan has been absolutely ridiculous tonight. I'd argue that's a bigger reason for our problems than anything Ohtani has done. f***ing ridiculous. Fire Walker.
  2. Anybody else hear the 'Let's go Blue Jays' chants? Incredible.
  3. Varsho deserves some luck. I've never seen a player get as screwed by umpires as he has in back to back games.
  4. Disgraceful lack of class from Dodgers fans. You can say bad things about Jays fans, but they don't boo injured players like. Shame on them.
  5. I liked putting Flu in, but I hated the approach. Ohtani chases low breaking balls as much as anyone in the league and they go in the zone? Horrible call by Kirk.
  6. Hat tip to Yamamoto. He pitched one of the greatest games in the history of the World Series, given how historically good the Jays bats have been. It's a shame that we used our best relievers in an inappropriate situation, but hopefully the extra fatigue won't cost us in a long series. I still feel confident against Glasnow. Looking back at the early innings, the blown call on Varsho was incredibly impactful, given that Ernie got a hit in his next at-bat, which would have scored at least 2 runs. The inability to cash in with a guy on 3rd and none out also cost us. You have to get these great pitchers early.
  7. All season we heard about all season was that his velo was down because he was overused. I don't think I buy that argument. Side sessions are a thing.
  8. Fisher succeeded against the same part of the lineup that Varland failed against. It would be 3-1 right now had Schneider used him. Maybe it doesn't make a difference, but maybe it does.
  9. Of course you try. It's not as if putting in Fisher or Little is akin to giving up. That being said, a manager should save what he sees as his best reliever for the most important situations. Our chance of winning in that situation is rather small and now we just burned him when he's pitched a ton lately.
  10. The Blue Jays believe that Varland is their best non-closer reliever, based on the way they have used him this season. I get why you would argue why that's not the case, but let's just say it is. That was an extremely inappropriate situation in which to use him.
  11. What an absolutely f***ing ridiculous use of Jeff Hoffman. Completely indefensible. Let him face his 3 batters and put in Little or something.
  12. It's unquestionably not the correct situation to use your top 2 leverage relievers either.
  13. The only dumber decision than using Varland is using Hoffman in a game in which we have a very, very small possibility of winning.
  14. Using Varland here is one of the most inexplicable decisions we have seen from Schneider in this postseason.
  15. Exactly my point. Use Varland in a more important situation. We only have so many elite relievers. This is a spot to use Little or Fisher.
  16. Why use Varland here? Extremely foolish decision. Let Gausman finish the inning and put in a lower leverage reliever.
  17. The extraordinarily bad blown call on Varsho and the lack of execution in the first inning stand out to me as the biggest moments of this game.
  18. Absolutely dotted fastball inside? Looks like that's what they wanted.
  19. Good pitch. Smith is the only Dodgers hitter who is playing well.
  20. This game would look a lot different if we had hit a sac fly in the first. Very uncharacteristic for the Jays.
