  1. I won’t disagree with you Jim. But she’s a Muslim so I think this will help
  2. Son left me for college mate. Was taking that advice until he left. Stuck paying $50k out of pocket for the next 6 years, so hopefully the future wife gets it lol
  3. I’m going to Morocco at the end of next month for the start of Wife#2. Hopefully it’ll give me something better to do than troll you hob knockers… for a year or two at least lol
  4. Come on man. The “Truth” thing was a pretty blatant troll. You cant get rekt on a troll
  5. Yeah and outside of 1987, 30hr put you towards the top of the leaderboard many years I believe
  6. Kids are getting TJ and such younger and younger. College and starting to trend in hs now.. so that’s what I floated my opinion on. Kids that age I’m quite sure were giving max effort back then, just like they give max effort now. It’s just really lazy to say guys back then didn’t give max effort and call it a day. Anyways, not much left to say at this point. It’s all just speculation but while I generally don’t side with the “back in my day” people, I don’t think you can shut down the babying thing so easily. Some of it could very well be about more risk aversion now that it’s a multi-billion dollar business
  7. Well, again going back to earlier convo..the whole thing has been diluted now with 3 WC teams. In practicality, these games could very well matter a lot when it comes to seeding, but I’d say objectively speaking the Jays are going to have a very great odds of just making the playoffs and it’s hard to see them not even being WC3. So it takes a bit from the regular season and that’s what purists will complain on.
  8. It’s not like just guys that throw 100mph get babied nowadays. I mean the guys throwing low 90’s get treated with the kids gloves as well It’s pretty much a universal thing and not linked to velocity
  9. I think your argument starts drifting across lanes a little bit into how much deeper the talent pool is; which is factual of course but kind of separate. Nolan Ryan is being used here, by me at least, for a lack of being able to rattle off 20-30 pitchers from that era that were studs, threw hard, and were not babied. I mean guys like Jim Palmer, Jim Carlton, Tom Seaver…they aren’t throwing 87moh fastballs, are they?
  10. Unless it’s March Madness*- then it’s kind of awesome
  11. Yeah obviously it’s a crap shoot when you get there, wouldn’t be afraid of NY in a series. Wouldn’t bet either way, but still… Anyways, I just like the “at least 3 game series”.. like Jays last 3 game set vs Tampa… you lose Game 1 which could’ve gone either way, but now you get a chance to win next two to advance, have your #1 on mound.. just gets killed… But can live with that. One and done is stupid
  12. This is f***ed up lol. I stopped following the game while at the gym. Just this thread. Rushed back thinking GS- 3 run bomb at least
  13. Is #3 automatically the other division winner?
  14. Is that how it works? That’s good. I thought in this day-and-age it would 1-1-1 with 2 or 3 days between each
  15. I’m sure he’ll bounce back and forth. Playoffs is who gets hot at the right time…but…at this point he’s not looking like you can fap about knowing you have him going into playoffs Hopefully comes around to that
  16. Nothing wrong with mentally conceding division to NY at this point. WC isn’t one-and-done. So it’ll feel like real payoffs. That’s my take
  17. Well. At least it was either Gausman or Ray. That was clear Still on top
  18. Guy A relentlessly mocks Guy B for defending a player having some fairly extended bad results Guy A than proceeds to do the same thing for a different player. Lol
  19. I’m not saying you should take Nolan Ryan anecdote as some fact. You’re sharing an informed opinion on the matter. It’s just funny how if I toss something out that I’ve read over the years in articles with quotes from doctors about kids throwing so much at a young age is tossed aside but if you offer an opinion, everyone lines up to lick your nuts lol
  20. This board would probably be a good place to do one of those social conformity studies
  21. Really? I mean, is there any factual evidence Nolan Ryan or someone was throwing “70% effort” lol.. it’s a very wild generalization. I’m not disregarding anything said, but there’s no mic drops
  22. You’re reaching for a burn bro. Where in that post did I imply I know anything about the medical field? I simply stated facts and followed by tossing out a couple things, while ending with idk I think you’re probably mad that I’m battling you in BORED this week like Rocky in Rocky I
  23. I’m with you that you can cherry pick examples to make your case either way. This is true of basically any argument in general. However, dudes were pitching 400IP in 1900. 30 years ago things were way different and guys weren’t dropping like flies. Yeah, there’s certainly an average velocity uptick and more pitch types being used. But I think the premier SP workhorse guys were throwing 90’s all along. Now it’a just more about how many guys are throwing 90’s. So I mean those are facts. Not saying I know the answer. Maybe it’s how much guys are throwing from 6yo. All the travel ball, rather than pitching a sandlot game? Idk. But I think it’s justifiable to look at history and make a blanket statement that guys didn’t need to be babied like they are now.
  24. I’m just speaking in Truths. Someone should build an app or something, where you can post inconvenient Truths that people don’t want to hear
  25. Better than being here and hearing complaints after every Vlad AB and slobbing Cavan’s knob while he has a 100wRC+ lol
