This is like a contractor telling you 6-8 weeks for a job. Always good to tack on 3 weeks. Especially with a track record like Glasnow.

If you read about the history of the play clocks in both leagues, the main objective was to improve game flow. Stalling tactics were secondary. I’m not claiming it’s apples to apples

You could say the same about the NBA and NFL play clocks. They also have to device strategy in a set amount of time. This leads to a quicker pace and this has helped in devour MlB market share over the years. I believe both those leagues used to be without the play clock. Baseball just slow to evolve

I’m a Manoah fan and will take the under on his projections all day. But someone more objective could really push back and say he hasn’t proven anything. Even if his underlying numbers were really good, which they’re not, it’s still a sss of him in the league. Lots of guys are good out the gate but then go backwards. The NFL union as an example totally restructured rookie pay in the last decade or whatever because giving money to unproven guys hamstrings teams and lessens FA activity if the young guys getting paid don’t produce -

NYM is less cool than SD in terms of SD not being a big market. However, the Mets have been such a joke for so long, it’s good for the game to see them revitalized.

Once you’re a billionaire, like how many houses can you have until it’s stupid (unless for investment), how many cars, etc. you can lose $100m-200m/yr for a decade and actually still come out even with franchise value rising. And you have a plaything in the meantime. I know people will hate Cohen and such, but it’s definitely something I would do

I wouldn’t count it out. I think you let it ride these two years and see how it all works out. I know it turns a lot of people off but I don’t have an issue with it. It’s like a super rich guy owning a restaurant and he keeps importing all these world class chefs and other staff and his accountants and business people are like “you can’t make money like this” and he’s like “so what, I want the best restaurant in town”… and all the other restaurants in town are pissed off because they’re trying to run a business.
