  1. damn....they get into our pen early, gonna F us for game 3.
  2. f*** me, how many games does cecil have to blow before they stop using him. Fing waste of a roster spot.
  3. I would think Navarro is grinning ear to ear, this may be his ticket out. over-Trade for a another #5 to throw on the pile?
  4. he didnt log more than 50 due to no opportunity. It is not like we were in a spot to use him every other night to seal off a game. He could have gone on vacation and we would not have realized it for how consistently we needed a game closer. I agree he wasnt great this year. But one down year in 5 ain't bad at all. He throws strikes and doesnt get lit up. I would have him back. AA said himself at his year end ******** ramble that he doesnt have anyone to close, but he has people who "can" close. I don't feel like going back to the closer by committee experiments, as we never came out on top of that mess. If he continues to ******** that we are on the cusp of greatness, yet lets key pieces just walk away with the hopes of his famous "catching lightning in a bottle" technique, I wish they would just burn this thing down, all of it, and start with AA. "I do think we have some relievers -- and I think there's some guys out there that might not be quote-unquote closers, that if given the opportunity can close," Anthopoulos said. "We're going to look to add relievers, and there may be someone that we add via trade or add through free agency that we announce as the closer. There may be a bunch of guys that we add or sign and say they're going to compete to be the closer, depending on who they are."
  5. He is an absolute workhorse, is rarely injured and is the strike thrower every team needs. How many times before Janssens did we curse when we had brought in a closer who couldnt just throw damn strikes? I am sure he will command some coin, but I see no reason to just let him walk. Any interview with him says that the two sides talked about it, didnt seem to work out, so that was that. This is a guy who has averaged 1.04 whip in four years while logging 50 innings a year. He does not give up the HR in this HR happy park. I just dont know what else they are looking for. We don't seem to have a clear set closer waiting in the wings, so why not sign him for 2+ years. At 33 I know he will start to fall apart, but he is not the flamethrower, he throws accurate strikes, I think he could afford to lose some speed and still be effective. For what we got out of him and what we paid, his value has been unreal for the last 3 years, time to pay him what he is worth. I am so sick of the tight purse strings of this team. This is a guy who we couldnt figure out what to do with 5 years ago. I cringed when we used to start games, but he evolved into an excellent end game player. One of my fav Jays of all time. He will be missed. /end rant sorry if this was or similar was posted elsewhere.
  6. geez. Gose should be up. Next will be gose in center. Ras can take his terrible numbers and have some other team overpay for him. Spend the dollars saved on melky. To say this team needs a total overhaul is an understatement. Outside of Jose, lind, lawrie Melky and a handful of pitchers, this team needs a lot of work before we even snif the post season.
  7. wow i hope this rumor has zero truth to it. I hated seeing him anywhere near the field and was thrilled when he left. He was lazy on the bases, in the field, in the batters box, everywhere. He never ran out infield outs and never tried in the field. I think most people on the old board couldn't stand his attitude either. From the damn day he and Hill signed long term, he didn't do s***. Why the f*** would we ever bring back that cancer here. Harsh words? maybe. But the fact that our big move to try to make the playoffs could actually be bringing back this sack of s*** enrages me. Geez some people have short memories.
  8. sorry, didnt note that it was a blog post, but if you like stats and number rambling, this one is for you.
  9. http://blogs.thescore.com/djf/2014/07/03/are-the-jays-playing-with-fire-with-dustin-mcgowan/
  10. wow, it would be nice to have one of our rookie pitchers come in and dominate like Whitley. I am worried about trying to break out of our slump against this guy.
  11. Thanks for the fix. Banning wont work, I don't post enough for it to mean anything 8)
  12. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2080853-mlb-position-by-position-player-power-rankings-june-edition I think we are better than the C+ they give us. Sorry if already posted...blah
  13. Yeah i figured as much, never liked League much.
  14. not sure here, but you are listing career fwar, if we are talking about a trade, shouldnt you use from the trade date til now? that would seem more appropriate.
  15. except for Lind, this lineup is as good as we get. This lineup deserves better pitching. lets go boys.
  16. maybe the fastest up/down trip we have had in a while, hopefully he doesnt even unpack his suitcase.
  17. man, Brett is pushing that stash, i dont want porn staches to become a new thing on this team.
  18. wow, i keep forgetting his is on this team, sucking up a 40 man spot, earning the big $$$.
  19. gibs bullpen management is always puzzling. Wags looked good there. The only good that will come of this is a few more ER for Dickey
  20. our fans are clapping for that s***? maybe that was the baltimore fans clapping.
  21. unreal, gift wrap it for them Gibby. Turn Edwins HR into nothing.
  22. F me, i can not believe they gave the ball back to dickey. Are we not even trying anymore? They have shown that they are on to our one-trick-pitch pony. this team.....
