    Had a monster start last night but it was against Oakland… actually his last 3 starts have been nasty damn. He didn’t look great near the beginning though and be was facing easy teams. He’s been a great value signing so far but really the question is if his arm can hold up.

    Yall are crazy, Kirk is still projecting for 120ish wRC+ and near .800 OPS for the rest of the season

    Varsho still the better trade there IMO, Bryan Reynolds had 3 years left vs Varsho’s 4, and Kirk is better than Moreno

    I bet Vlad could be a good SS, he has a better arm than Bo and good range. They should at least try it

    Maybe, but I don’t really consider the extension as part of the trade because it didn’t happen til the offseason and it was an optional move for each side

    SWR + Martin (both great prospects at the time) for 12 good starts from Berrios in a year we didn’t even make the playoffs And then a full season of negative WAR. The Mahle trade might have been better?? Haha

    Lol this is like the Jays/Berrios trade except Berrios was excellent the half season we got him (though we didn’t make the playoffs and it didn’t matter)

    Honestly their best shot at remaining competitive in the future probably involves trading one of Bo/Vlad before they hit free agency and another guy, someone like Gausman maybe. Could really speed up the rebuild timeline and make it more of a retool by trading someone like Bo/Vlad and signing a mid-tier replacement. You absolutely HAVE TO hit on that prospect return though

    Yeah you either gotta throw over the top or clear the bag after making the out at 2nd before the throw to 1st. Terrible mechanics on the turn by Bo there

    Was that about the Redsox system being overrated?? I did see Marcelo Mayer is crushing it though, but nice to see some Sox falling on lists

    This front office must have crippling fear of extending guys like Bo and Vlad early. Like damn that Berrios extension looked bad right away

    Also lost in the noise at the end there but Mayza did a pretty great job in that spot. Got the K and a double play

    Alright yeah tough choice on the throw. Man that entire Canstellanos AB was frustrating as hell. Vladdy missing the popup, Romano continuously throwing the slider even though it was clear Castellanos wan ON it. And then getting a grounder but the defensive positioning wasn’t great. Ugh

    I missed the 9th but I see Espinal made another bad play on that Castellanos grounder. I think his time is up. If he can’t play solid/above-average D he has no place on this team

    Wasted 1.5 seasons with Charlie when it was clear we needed a new manager, now looks like they’ll waste a couple years with JS. Or maybe the team just ain’t good enough

    Even if we get out of that inning, no guarantees we win the game. Still need to play another inning. But goddamn a major league SS absolutely has to make that play 10/10 times. It was a perfect throw and he had lots of time.
