    Yeah not at all a guaranteed sac fly. Still dumb he didn’t tag up though. I get furious when my softball teammates pull that s***, its like so simple to understand and IDK how a major leaguer makes that mistake

    It starts with game 1 too though. Left Bassit in way longer than they should’ve when it was clear he was struggling, presumably because they wanted to save the pen for the rest of the series. But then they don’t even end up using Romano a single time, and Hicks gets 1 appearance in a blowout. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me with this being the pivotal series of the season. Again, like I said there seemed to be no sense of urgency in this series.

    Its still an issue. Especially in the 4th game there… like what exactly are we “saving” the better arms for? This is it, this is the season. Just 0 sense of urgency the entire series

    Bassit gifting the Rangers a free run in the first game of the series was an omen for things to come

    People forget how poorly he managed that ALCS game 4 against KC. Jays were down 5-2 and he put in LaTroy Hawkins (6th inning I think) who was struggling big time near the end of the season. Proceeds to blow the game wide open, leading to Pennington pitching and allowing KC to rest the Davis/Holland combo and putting the Jays down 3-1 in the series. Jays had a chance to come back still, and if they had then evening the series 2-2 is a major difference from being down 3-1. Pretty much the same scenario you guys are complaining about with Richards except in the playoffs. And Schneider had guys like Garcia and Romano well-rested in the pen. Season on the line. Embarrassing.

    Drop all the pending free agents Sign Pederson and Teo and a 5th starter. Rotation and Bullpen pretty much the same Lineup: Bichette Vlad Pederson Teo Springer Varsho Kirk/Jansen Schneider Orelvis/Barger/Biggio/Espy If Vlad/Springer/Varsho/Kirk don’t rebound there’s not much you can do with the roster without blowing things up. 2024 is the final kick at the can before you seriously re-evaluate the “core” going forward.

    Its not even that they’re bad against the ALE, its literally just Boston and Baltimore. And this shitstorm of a series was the final nail in the coffin

    It was decent. Lots of people left before the end though, and the broadcast probably plays with the mics to mute the boos somewhat. Hard to tell.

    Probably not. We just didn’t score enough and the bullpen has been a dumpster fire these past few weeks.

    Every other time we played Baltimore this year. That 4 game sweep in Fenway 2021. This is truly some depressing s*** we witnessed this week. On the cusp of a playoff spot, riding high after sweeping the Royals, KK hyping up the crowd…. And its all crushed and over now in a matter of 4 days.
