  1. Remember what we were saying about Henderson Alvarez? Except that his FB was in the mid 90s and he couldn't get Ks either because he had no other pitch. Jenkins is no different. He needs a breaking ball.
  2. If jenkins could just throw a hard slider or curve that dives out of the zone, he's around the plate so much that hitters would swing at them. Unfortunately when he gets to 0-2, all he can throw is still just the sinker. Reminds me of Henderson.
  3. Not that impressed really. Zero strikeouts and he's stranded a bunch of runners, one with a double play on a hard hit ball. He's getting lucky. That being said, he has thrown strikes and only walked one, but he needs to find a way to generate some swing and miss.
  4. That's really interesting. That says to me that it's an approach problem rather than a pitch recognition problem. He probably thinks "I'm the catcher so all I need to do is PRODUKSHUN" and thinks walks are for sissys.
  5. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2013/05/roy-halladay-to-undergo-shoulder-surgery.html He won't make the innings for his option and will become a free agent after 2013. I refuse to believe that his career is over. I could see Doc signing a cheap 5M contract with an option year or two with the Jays for 2014. Could be an awesome low risk high reward pick up and for the Jays. Plus, it's doc! How awesome would it be to see him return to T.o!?
  6. Great win tonight, but Buerhle has just been atrocious all season long apart from that one start against a bad hitting White Sox team. What's wrong with him? Is his FB velocity down? Can we expect his HR/FB numbers to regress or is he over the hill? Either way his contract is starting to look more and more like an albatross. How many more starts do we give him before we try another option? I think if he keeps going like this when Johnson comes back, and if Romero is pitching ok, he either gets put on the DL, or put in the bullpen as a long guy. Hopefully he picks it up though.
  7. This is why Morrow will never be a great pitcher. Loses the strike zone too often.
