  1. You don't have Mike Trout, so no free pass to the finals brah Great minds think alike, Queen.
  2. Yeah man, guys like Melky, Edwin, Bautista, Navarro, have really underperformed. Rasmus was really good last year and now he sucks which is clearly due to playing for Gibby this year. I dunno, I get the whole "managers don't matter" angle in regards to firing him, but Gibbons probably won't catch on elsewhere and he's doing a fine job here. I don't want to see the wellbeing of an individual unfairly compromised just to sate the bloodlust of dumb fans.
  3. Seriously? Also, lol Catsass already sent me an inquiry on Castillo...a month ago.
  4. I like Gibby, he's funny and doesn't make a lot of the stupid decisions a guy like Kirk Gibson or Matt Williams would make. Think Gibby would hit Bryce Harper 6th behind studs like Ian Desmond, Asdrubal Cabrera or Wilson Ramos? Think Gibby would call for Bryce to bunt? Managers largely don't matter but as a human being who does a decent job and clearly enjoys managing, I don't want to see him become the scapegoat for stupid fans who don't know any better.
  5. I'm checking every other day, so it wouldn't matter. North can suck it.
  6. I assume the absurd notion that either one should stop playing to their strengths (pulling the ball.) If these morons like highhardon69 and others are putting this partially on Bautista and the lack of crafty bunting, they should really learn what baseball is and how to play it. They never bring up defense, or the fact that half the lineup is garbage most nights, or the fact that the FO likes to invest in inefficiency. Nope, the Jays didn't make the playoffs because Edwin and Bautista keep killing rallies by cranking moonshots to left and getting on base instead of slapping singles to right and then trying to steal bases. They should also bunt more, because bunting is the best!
  7. They are 14-18 this year and have played in the fewest one run games in the AL East and pretty low total altogether.
  8. Did you actually just use the term "homosexual" as an insult?
  9. No, of course. When some old idiot like Joe Morgan or Rick Sutcliffe talk about manufacturing runs I understand what they mean. Using the word "manufacture" just doesn't make any sense. Which fits the rest of their mantra I suppose.
  10. Yeah but if a guy walks, the next guy hits a home run, does he not manufacture those two runs?
  11. What does manufacturing runs even mean. What a stupid phrase.
  12. He's got two big deals to hang his hat on: Granderson, EJax, couple of relievers for Austin Jackson, Max Scherzer and the Miguel Cabrera trade. Actually, he gave up next to nothing for Fister as well. And Anibal. So he's made some decent moves but quite a few clunkers as well. But it feels like he doesn't just make small mistakes, they are big but covered by some of the great moves he's made.
  13. The guy who dealt Doug Fister for nothing to accommodate the bullpen is a smart guy? He seems like the exact kind of person who would be enamoured with a big name like Reyes.
  14. Didn't you just say that Kershaw was a no-brainer? That implies no debate.
  15. Good thing the Jays decided they'd rather have JPA behind the dish!
  16. I have never seen anyone whine while tromping people through the playoffs quite like BTS. Man, I like both you and North, real tough to cheer against either one of you guys.
  17. Why would you think that? Err, don't answer that.
  18. I'm more worried that Stroman doesn't seem to know the difference between a tiger and a lion.
  19. Lazy.
  20. Doolittle and McGee hardly walk anyone and both throw harder than Cecil, not great comparisons.
  21. They could lose nearly 90 games and he'd still believe in this team...oh wait. Beeston is a stubborn old fool who doesn't know anything about baseball anyway.
  22. Also because you don't seem to know what you're talking about.
  23. I always find it funny that people say "the hive" resorts to insults for no reason. So congrats on showing your glaring ignorance to the world. I don't know all about framing, but I do know that catchers can have thousands of opportunities during a season to utilize it, and a ball changed to a strike I'd imagine has similar value to a good defensive play by an infielder. It's not hard to see how valuable it can be when you pull your head out of your ass.
  24. Hate it when people play this card. Hitters have the Hank Aaron award. As for playing everyday, when Kershaw pitches, he is directly involved in more than 50% of the entire game where a position player may be involved 4 or 5 PAs plus any random number of plays in the field. I think Verlander's year should be completely irrelevant, it was a mistake, though Kershaw doesn't really have an eye popping candidate beside him like Ellsbury or Bautista this year unless you consider framing which none of the voters will.
  25. Whatever, no one should have a problem with Kershaw winning, I just find it odd that one of the anti-hive people is talking in absolutes, especially over a very debatable topic.
