Like I said, I have no problem with women "infiltrating" the sport. I have a problem with women being hired because they are women. I am in favour of a complete meritocracy. I complain about guys like Pat Tabler, Joe Buck (bad case of nepotism), Matt Vasgersian, etc. My problem with Mendoza is in many ways the same as my problem with Joe Buck. Joe Buck continues on because his dad was a legend in the booth. So this boring dipshit, with no knowledge of the sport he's covering, calls WS games every year. Drives me crazy. I don't think Mendoza is as bad as Buck, but I'd much prefer to hear a guy like Cal Ripken, for example, on SNB instead of female Pat Tabler.
Softball and baseball are very different. I don't think her softball play gives her any extra insight into baseball because she doesn't seem to know much. She's just a cliche machine.
Lots of women and progressive soy boys do not watch baseball, at all. The Keith Law types are like 1% of baseball's viewership.
