Could have sworn AA said he let Gibby decide who to DFA between Valencia and Colabello. I used to believe that point about Navarro, but no longer. He actually thinks Navarro is a good hitter, deadline has passed and he still bats cleanup. Him hitting Martin sixth and Navarro typically 4th-5th gives life to the belief that Gibbons is just an idiot who doesn't have a basic understanding of player value.
I hate jumping on managers and there are aspects I like about him (doesn't bunt a lot, is likable) but some of the things I liked have disappeared (good BP management, good at setting platoons) and it looks like him constantly playing the wrong players in the wrong places because he really has no concept of value could be detrimental.
