    no, they haven't released him. They are just making room on the 40 man roster. If Berti passes through waivers (he will) he'll remain in the system.

    Depends on what you mean by strong. Do I think he will provide a greater contribution than a comp pick? 100%. I feel like he could be a #3-4 with a chance to be better than that, starting as soon as next season. Remember that Atkins was the director of player development when Merryweather was drafted and he likely has more insight into him than anyone else would.
