    If they alter stuff to do with service time, Vlad will still be under team control when the newest CBA goes live. Only problem is that it isn't a sure thing. It's possible they could come to a stalemate and simply negotiate a short term continuation of the current CBA just to keep players on the field.

    Harper isn't really the type of guy that requires monetary incentive. He truly wants to be the best. Also, with inflation and front loading, those back years will be cheap, and you wouldn't want to front load a deal and then have him opt out as he gets cheap.

    My point was that this isn't a can't miss talent. Him being in AAA is fine and #5 starters are fine but not really that big a deal.

    Perhaps. I don't think it's unfair to say he isn't penciled in as a starter right now, though. I wasn't commenting on whether anyone should or shouldn't be playing, just the incorrect narrative that there are kids at every position.

    What? I was only pointing out your comment about kids. Teoscar sucks and isn't young and will also likely be on the bench Gurriel will be on the bench or in AAA Two doesn't qualify as "plenty" Smoak, Morales, Travis, Galvis, Pillar, Grichuk are all penciled in as starters right now. That's 6/9 in the lineup.

    The only "kids" that are playing are Jansen, Vlad and McKinney if you even count him. Not sure what you're on about. Also, there's nothing wrong with them playing at AAA.
