Nobody can accurately judge a players basketball IQ 30 game into their career. Almost all rookies does things like "bad passes and stupid stuff like that". It doesn't mean they have bad IQ because they're still learning.

Watching him in college, it didn't seem like he played dumb. He was just a bit passive and didn't have much of a handle.

Basketball IQ is way more than whether a person settles for jump shots. I don't know if he does have high IQ because I haven't watched him but isn't he already one of their better defenders?

Yeah it looks like the bad defense from the end of last year has carried on into this year. I can see a first round loss if they end up facing the Heat. Might not even be a bad thing because it will give Masai the excuse to fire Casey.

He did well in the the best basketball league outside of the NBA last year. He was way further along than Bruno but apparently Casey can't even develop him to be a better option than the likes of Chuck hayes.
