Jays: Dustin McGowan takes the mound in his first Home Opener of his career. He missed the 2008 season because of a surgery to repair the fraying of the labrum in his shoulder and was expected to return May of 2009. He then missed that deadline and the rest of the year because of knee surgery to repair articular cartilage damage. His expected return was June of 2010 but he was experiencing soreness and pain in his shoulder, only to find that he had a torn rotator cuff which was his season ending surgery for the year of 2010. He eventually started pain-free throwing and got the call in September of 2011 and made his first appearance in over 3 years, against the Boston Red Sox. He pitched 4 innings, and gave up 3 runs while striking out 5 and walking 3. He ended the season with 4 starts posting a 8.57 K/9 and 5.57 BB/9 ratio along with a 6.43 ERA, but it was a great first step onto his path to recovery. He missed most of the 2012 season with Plantar Fasciitis in his foot obtained during Spring Training, and during his comeback in August of 2012 he underwent arthroscopic shoulder surgery on August 9th. He came back June of 2013 and a much improved ratio of 9.12 K/9 and 4.21 BB/9 along with a 2.45 ERA in 25.2 relief innings. He pitched great in Spring Training and hopefully he does well and stays injury free. The Blue Jays homered in their first three games to start the season, their longest such streak since 2011, when they hit homers in five straight games. Seven of Toronto's 11 runs during their four-game series against the Rays were scored via the home run. Toronto went 4 for 29 (.138) with runners in scoring position and totaled 11 runs in the series. The Blue Jays had not allowed a home run in each of their first three games of the season, which was the third-longest streak to start a season in franchise history. The only two longer streaks were in 1989 and 1999, when Toronto went five games to start the year. Yankees: Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter enters play on Thursday with 3,318 career hits, good for ninth place on baseball's all-time list. He needs one hit to tie Paul Molitor (3,319) for eighth place on the all-time list, and fourth place on the American League all-time hits list. The Yankees have three Japan-born players on their active roster in Tanaka, Hiroki Kuroda and Ichiro Suzuki. They have had four other Japan-born players in their history: Hideki Irabu (1997-99), Hideki Matsui (2003-09), Kei Igawa (2007-08) and Ryota Igarashi (2012). Yankees infielder Yangervis Solarte, who was 3-for-3 with a walk, double, RBI and two runs scored in his first Major League start on Thursday, is the first Yankee to have at least three hits and an RBI in one of his first two career games since Oscar Azocar in 1990. 3. This has been used for years!
  4. The still can develop more big bats.... Stanton + Yelich + Marisnick/Ozuna is sexy. Dietrich might hit a lot of bombs from 2B, Hech is a sure thing to provide GG defence at short... and had they not traded Matt Dominguez they would have had a young solid infield. Oh yeah lol I mean can't the MLB force him to sell or something?
  5. Welcome to the club!! I made a long ass post a couple of months into last season basically stating why I love the Marlins. Just need to fire Loria for good PR and they'll be good
  6. He is THE s***! One of the best players I drafted in all my drafts this year
  7. Do you have an Allen Craig jersey? Because I can bring my Escobar one lol

  11. By choice lol. Ah s*** . Then I'm a scratch for this, I'm too busy to go to a Jays game earlier in Saturday with school. If you guys do some sort of other meetup down the road I'll probably be down to meet up!
  12. f*** lol do I have to be 18 to get in? I don't drink alcohol regardless so that won't be an issue for me, but getting in might be, I haven't been in a bar in Canada yet (Jack Astors doesn't count lol) I swear I thought you lived in TO lol
  13. I wasn't either but I'm getting my ass through lol I know tickets aren't sold out but I probably can't make the game regardless, I'll be down to chill with you guys around 5ish onwards?
