Jays: Not much to say, but Happ is 2-0 with a 2.19 ERA in two starts against the Phillies while the Phillies own a .287 BAA against lefties this season. Jose Bautista has reached base in every game for the longest such streak to begin a season since Cincinnati's Joey Votto did it for the first 33 in 2011. The Blue Jays' bullpen entered play on Sunday with the second-worst WHIP in the Major Leagues at 1.56. They also had the second-worst walks per nine innings with 4.98 and the fifth-worst home run total of 12. Last year, Toronto had the ninth-lowest WHIP (1.23). Phillies: Kendrick owns a 4.87 ERA in his last 12 starts. He is 0-1 with a 6.91 ERA in three outings against the Blue Jays. Cole Hamels pitches Tuesday against the Blue Jays. He had been scheduled to pitch Sunday against the Nationals but was scratched because of the flu. The Phillies had a major league-worst 5.53 ERA in interleague games a year ago and fared worse in their lone AL series this year with a 5.96 ERA in losing two of three at Texas to open the season. 7. Ala Sean Nolin? McGowan has got 3 more starts after today lol
  8. http://i.imgur.com/HRqTKzJ.png Pitching Matchup: http://i.imgur.com/viRAjTV.png SP - Dustin McGowan (23.0 IP, 10 BB, 5.87 K/9, 3.91 BB/9, .290 BAA, .320 BABIP, 5.23 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/X1opruf.png SP - Edinson Volquez (33.2 IP, 6 BB, 4.81 K/9, 1.60 BB/9, .220 BAA, .236 BABIP, 3.86 FIP) [R] http://i.imgur.com/ynB1FWI.png Lineups: http://i.imgur.com/LE600zG.png Make your picks for the first homer contest hosted by Dylan! Jays: McGowan might be pitching in his last start for the next while at least. He yielded three runs - two earned - and three hits in six-plus innings of a 10-7 defeat at Kansas City. He has a 7.07 ERA in his last 3 starts. Jose Bautista extended his hitting streak to a career-high 13 games with a single during the fourth inning of Saturday night's game in Pittsburgh. Bautista has reached base in all 30 games this season, which is a franchise record. Brett Lawrie has recorded multiple hits in six consecutive games and seven of his past nine contests. He also has a team-high 21 RBIs. Pirates: Volquez gave up six runs and two homers before being pulled with two outs in the sixth inning of a 7-0 defeat to the Cardinals. He had a 2.08 ERA over his first four starts and he's 0-2 with an 8.16 ERA over three starts, allowing four runs in five innings with the Padres on June 2 in his last start against the Jays. The Jays pitching staff sure know how to kickstart an offence! The Pirates have come in to this series having dropped 10 of 12 while batting .217 and averaging 2.8 runs per game. In this series they are batting .387 and have scored 14 runs in the last two. Andrew McCutchen is 19/43 in his past 10 Interleague games at PNC Park. 9. Yes because these days $9MM (It takes $1M to not pick up his option) is nothing, especially for a pitcher. Look at the open market too, Scott Kasmir who pitched healthy for the first time in at least 3 years gets $11MM per year for 2 years from Oakland. Josh Johnson - who like Morrow has pitched well before his injuries kicked in - got paid by San Diego $8MM for a year. Morrow would be worth it when the market prices take another hike in 2015
  10. Too bad their playing no doubles, but we could still be a hit away from tying!
